The Costa Calida region


Costa Calida has more than 300 sunny days a year and over 250km of unspoiled sandy beaches as well as the Sierra Espuna national park. The most famous part of the coast is the Mar Menor which is a beautiful, safe and shallow sea which bordered by La Manga on one side and the towns of Los Alcazares, San Javier and Santiago de La Ribera on the other.
The region is now a major golfing destination with 19 quality golf courses and more planned.
Its main cities are Murcia, which is famous for its cathedral, parks and quality shopping, and Cartagena, which is known for its port, and its fantastic Roman ruins.
The Los Alcazares / Roda Golf area
Los Alcazares is a small town favoured by Spanish holidaymakers. Its population swells from 12,000 to ten times that number in peak season. As well as the Mar Menor it has a wide variety of popular restaurants, bars and nightspots.

All the main budget airlines fly to Murcia San Javier airport (MJV) which is 10 minutes from the property. The airport is served by a large number of car hire companies like Auriga and Goldcar. You can also fly to Alicante airport which is 55 minutes away.
On leaving San Javier Airport turn left at the first rounadbout which is signposted Los Alcazares.Go straight through the next roundabout at Las Velas shopping centre and then turn right at the following roundabout.
Travel straight on through the next roundabout and Roda Golf and Beach Resort is on your right. Maggie or Dennis, of Roda FM, our property managers will meet you at the car park on the right past the security barrier i.e. just inside the resort.

From the moment we arrived at Murcia airport everything was first class. The facility management company picked us up as pre-agreed from the airport and showed us around the town prior to taking us to the villa, this allowed us to see the restaurants, shopping area and beach. The villa itself was fantastic and had everything we could have wished for. The internal spec was very high. We really had a lovely relaxing time and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly, and would love to return to the same villa, hopefully next year. The only slight down side was the pool was unheated, but given the weather was still relatively hot (around 28 deg.) for October, it was bearable. We were in a 5 star all-inclusive hotel in Sharm el Sheik for 2 weeks in July, and this villa and holiday was far superior. We have no hesitation in recommending it to family and friends, and as stated earlier hope to return next year.

The villa is outstanding, five star in fact – from the moment we arrived we didn’t want to go home! The attention to detail with everything including the furnishings and decor is top class. The owners have thought about everything to make the villa and your holiday perfect. The villa is situated in a quiet location but only minutes walk from the front gates and the clubhouse – probably one of the best spots in the village. It has every amenity you would ever need – including golf clubs, other sports gear, board games, ipod speakers, loads of television channels, dvds, sun loungers, air conditioning and loads more! We are planning to go back very soon! The resort itself is beautiful – the golf course is fantastic, we hired bikes with baskets which was excellent for getting into town if you didn’t have a car for going shopping. The beaches, restaurants and pubs are excellent. I would recommend the private pick up from the airport from roda fm – they were really efficient and helpful.
