The beach is only 10 minutes walk away with golden sands and shallow waters making it especially ideal for children. The promenade lined by palm trees stretches for 7 km with breathtaking views of the Mar Menor. Los Alcazares is a unique seaside town full of Spanish charm and character. The Mar Menor is a salt-water lagoon of 128 sq. km. with a sea temperature of 5 degrees above that of the Mediterranean. The area enjoys on average 320 days of sunshine per year.
A golfers paradise with the world famous La Manga Club 15 minutes away by car.
Bars and restaurants and supermarkets are all within walking distance.

The Costa Calida region
A very flat area which ideal for walking and cycling .Explore the Mar Menor area and the La Manga strip . Visit the beautiful historic city of Murcia , "the Capital of Baroque" with its monuments and impressive Gothic Cathedral , architecture , river and squares to eat ,drink and watch the world go by. Likewise the historic seaside town of Cartagena with its large harbour , walls, beautuiful buildings ,amphitheatre and squares.
The Los Alcazares / Los Narejos area
The Arabs chose Los Alcazares the site for several palaces for holidays and to rest and re-opened the local Roman baths. Taking advantage of the warm shallow crystal clear theraputic waters of the beautiful Mar Menor ,rich in iodene ,salt and other minerals, giving relief for many ailments. Enjoying mud bathing as locals and visitors alike do today at Lo Pagan. Los Alcazares is renowned for it's water sports, long promenade and clean sandy beaches with occasional cafe bars ,restaurants and children's play areas. Visit the Isle of Perdiguera, or Arab fortress Torre del Rame and the huge twice weekly local markets. Theres plenty to do and see although a car is an advantage.

Car Hire is available from www.carjet.com and we recommend you pre-book to save yourself time at Murcia airport, although a car is not essential if you holiday here. Taxi's are available from Alicante Airport, and a local transfer can be arranged from Murcia airport.

Good compact villa and well equipped with everything you need. Be prepared for a bit of a walk from the shops and bars/restaurants and beach, though. There was a problem with the pool during the latter part of our stay, but it was being fixed and hopefully will be resolved shortly. Weather in October is a bit less reliable than the summer, but still a great break for the family. |
