Home description
Maison du La Jarge is a spacious comfortable gite with the benefit of your own above ground pool. Set in a hamlet in the countryside, it offers peace and quiet. Maison du La Jarge is a large gite property with four bedrooms accommodating 8 – 10 people in 2 double bedrooms and 2 triple bedded rooms. Two bed settees are also available, if you wished to bring more friends with you. Two shower rooms with toilets. A large kitchen with wood burner and farmhouse style table to seat 10, fully equipped with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, coffee machine, iron/ironing board and all usual gadgets. The large homely lounge with wood burner and comfortable sofas has TV with satellite freeview channels, and a DVD player that also plays music CD's. Outside is a 10 x 5 swimming pool, loungers, seating and swings in the one acre of garden for your exclusive use. Part of the barn has been turned over to a games room with table tennis, 5ft. snooker/pool table and dart board. Tennis and badminton rackets also stored in here. Well behaved pets are welcome.
The local village, Lorigne, is 3 mins away, has a small boulangeries. Sauze Vaussais is 10 mins away with boulangeries, bars and restaurants and a large supermarket. Chef Boutonne is 15 mins away, again with all the usual shops and restaurants you would expect. In the next hamlet of Pioussay, is the Chateau de Jouhe. We are always on hand to help, but the gite is not overlooked by us, and we have our own separate garden, which makes it very private.

The Charente has a warm sunny climate and mild winters. The agriculture is crops such as sunflowers and cereals. Vallee des Singes (monkey valley) is 15 kms. Walk through the park and be greeted by the monkeys, just keep your hats off or you will loose them! Golf approx 50 mins Futuroscope (45 mins) Many indoor and outdoor activities Niort (40 mins) Lovely shops and pedestrianised areas Cognac (60 mins) All the brandy making museums and tours - some by boat Angouleme (30 mins) Old walled town La Rochelle (90 mins) with its beaches and wonderful port. Sit in the port area watching the world go by eating moules and frites. Limoges (90 mins ) With its cathedral and porcelain factories Confelons (30 mins ) A medieval town on the vienne river Oradour-sur-Glane- (90 mins) eyrie memorial to the war time massacre of 642 villagers La Palmyre zoo (100) mins. Wonderful Zoo committed to conservation, although a drive away, its a full days walk around it.

Conditions
No smoking upstairs. Breakage deposit of £100 per week booked to be paid with the balance due. 25% of rental fee due on booking to secure, the balance due eight weeks before your stay. Welcome pack with tea, coffee, bread, jam, cheese and milk supplied, as well as enough cleaning materials and toilet paper to keep you going until you get to the shops. If you wish us to do a 'shop' for you, this can be arranged at cost to you.
