The West Country / Cornwall region
Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Or could it be the cliff-top theatre at Mynack, working harbours, the world famous Eden project or St Michaels Mount, cut off from the mainland by a causeway. Or even the endless activities on offer; the Camel Cycling and Walking Trail, stunning coastal paths or the National Surf Centre at Newquay’s Fistral beach. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.
The Looe / St. Keyne area
Situated in the main valley leading to the Looe coast is the sleepy village of St Keyne. Set amidst rolling meadows and wooded valleys, this area is an excellent spot for walkers and wildlife enthusiasts. The south coast is nearby and offers lovely sandy beaches and coastal walks whilst the local fishing towns of Looe and Polperro are both within a 20 minute drive. The cathedral city of Truro is just a short distance away, as are numerous impressive country houses and gardens. The world famous Eden Project is also within easy reach, ensuring that all visitors to this lovely region have something to see and do.

Guestbook for 1678 - The Retreat
A very restful holiday at 'The Retreat'. A warm welcome from the owners including flowers, milk, biscuits and wine. It was great to be able to use the Looe Valley Railway which is just a short walk to the Wishing Well Halt.

,The cottage was very well equipped - the owners had thought to supply the kind of things you forget to take but that make all the difference. The flooring throughout was also great; just a quick mop to get rid of paw prints!

,Very peaceful, lots of walks from the cottage, combining the railway with the planned walks there was no need to use the car on most days. The cottage was very clean and tidy. The little extras help to make it a great week.

All prices are inclusive of the booking fee per week or short break.
Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental.
Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday.
"Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.
