Situated at the end of our own long private tree lined drive, and surrounded by beautiful open countryside Trecan offers the perfect peaceful retreat in which to relax and recharge.
The centrally heated cottage has two bedrooms, a double with handbasin, and a family room with a double and a single bed. There is a lovely spacious lounge complete with freeview TV, DVD and stereo, and a woodburner fire with logs provided. A well equipped kitchen with dining area leads to the enclosed private garden, ideal for enjoying a glass of wine and barbeque, looking out over the sheep in the fields, a perfect haven for seeing barn owls, woodpeckers, canada geese and many other species. The sky is awash with hundreds of stars, more vivid without the street lights! Just two miles from the small villages of Lanreath and Lerryn, 15 minutes from Looe, Polperro and Fowey, and only 45 minutes from the North Coast, Trecan is perfectly located to see all of the wonderful scenery and stunning beaches that Cornwall has to offer.
At Trecan we have our own Tennis Court, a games room with pool, table tennis and darts, a play area, and goats, sheep, hens, ducks and rabbits. Just now we are expecting newborn lambs to bottle feed, and the the hens and ducks are laying really tasty eggs. About this location
The Cornwall region
South East Cornwall is the most beautiful undiscovered area of Cornwall. With rugged cliffs, stunning beaches and working fishing harbours, from Whitsand Bay with the Mount Edgecombe estate and the national camilia collection, Downderry, Seaton Country Park and the quaint fishing town of Looe to the beautiful secluded coves and ports of Polperro Polruan and Fowey. Just a 30 minute drive to Plymouth, and 45 minutes to the North Coast of Padstow, we at Trecan are idyllically situated to enjoy all the fantastic scenery that makes Cornwall so special. The Eden Project with its humid biomes, the rainforest and hands on discovery centre, is one of the country's most spectacular attractions, (even James Bond has been filmed there) and is just 15 minutes from Trecan. Venture further afield and you can visit Lands End, Penzance, St Michaels Mount, St Ives and numerous beautiful exotic gardens. The climate in Cornwall is mild thanks to the gulf stream. We rarely get snow and frost and if we do it doesn't last more than a day or two. With miles of coastline, the Cornish Coastal Path means you can walk all the way around the County.
The literary festival takes place in May in Fowey and the regatta with spectacular fireworks and the red arrows is in August. In September Looe has its music festival, Falmouth its' Oyster Festival, and not to forget May Day celebrations of The Furry Dance in Helston and the Obby Oss in Padstow. Steeped in tradition there are festivals, fetes and regattas throughout Cornwall.
The Area around the Farm has quaint villages serving Cornish cream teas and pasties. Looe has fishing trips for shark, conger eel and mackeral and a great fish market for tasty fresh fish.
