Bay House apartment in East Looe is located just 100 yards from the sandy beach and quay making it the perfect location to enjoy this lovely harbour town. A beautifully refurbished second floor property offering contemporary and stylish accommodation in an historic setting. Bay house is ideal for couples but will sleep 3 guests if required and is close to all the amenities and nightlife of East Looe.
This modern and stylish apartment is furnished and equipped to a high specification. A Flat Screen TV with Freeview and DVD player are provided for your entertainment in both the lounge and main bedroom. The lounge/dining area is very comfortably furnished with leather sofas and presented in a very contemporary style with a Beechwood spiral staircase that services the galleried landing bedroom.
The apartment is nicely decorated and the finishing touches are very tasteful, creating a real 'home from home' feel whilst retaining the sense of calm, important when you are on holiday to chill and relax.
There is a very well equipped kitchen and a refitted shower room featuring a large walk in shower.
East Looe - filled with interesting shops and with a large selection of pubs, restaurants and eateries. Enjoy a stroll along the quay after an enjoyable meal and watch the boats in the harbour. The sandy beach is on your doorstep and Looe is ideally placed for exploring the stunning coastline and countryside of this lovely part of Cornwall.
The lounge/dining area is an ideal place to enjoy a meal together and then unwind after a long day sightseeing or walking the coastal path. Watch a DVD or just relax, unwind and rest ready for another fun filled day.
There are many activities available in the area including quad biking, horse riding, go-karting and 4x4 driving.
The double bedroom is located on the first floor (with wall mounted TV for your entertainment) with a galleried second bedroom (ideally suitable for a single child/young adult due to the sloping ceiling) located on the mezzanine floor and accessed via a spiral staircase. We do not recommend children under the age of 8 years due to the spiral staircase.
The well equipped kitchen has oven/hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine. There is a large selection of utensils to enable you to self cater in comfort.
Don't forget to sample the local seafood in the towns restaurants - Looe is a working fishing harbour and the daily catches are the freshest in Cornwall.
The luxury shower room has a large walk in shower and has recently been refitted.
Polperro, just 4 miles from Looe (see photo) is a must see for a memorable day out - explore the shops, village and harbour and sample the delights of the fudge, chocolate and cornish pasty shops. It's OK you can walk off the calories on the stunning cliff top walks. If you are feeling really energetic try the 4 mile South West Coastal path walk from Looe to Polperro - absolutely stunning! SORRY NO PETS ALLOWED.

The bustling picturesque seaside town of Looe provides a perfect base for your holiday in South East Cornwall.
Whether you are looking for a 'traditional' seaside holiday with your children or a break with friends in a picturesque Cornish fishing harbour, Looe is ideal.
Originally separate towns, East & West Looe existed as early as the 12th century and were divided by the River Looe. Before 1832 the twin towns had two Parliamentary seats. In 1411, the 'twin towns' were connected by an estuary bridge, the earliest in Cornwall. In 1698, this bridge was recorded as having 14 arches. Today, East and West Looe are joined together by a beautiful seven arch bridge built in 1853 about 100 yards further upstream from the original bridge.
For today's holiday maker East Looe has its own large sandy beach, shallow seas and a wealth of rock pools for the children to enjoy. During the summer, there are trampolines and other activities on the beach and the 'Banjo Pier' is a very popular place for a spot of rod & line fishing and for watching the fishing trawlers and other boats leave and return to the harbour. Looe is host to the Looe Music Festival, a 3 day weekend event in September bringing together an eclectic mix of live music and comedy performed at various venues around the town including the East Looe beach.
At Hannafore, West Looe, there is an easily accessible south facing beach of shingle and sand which has plenty of rock pools at low tide. This beach offers car parking along the sea front, ice-cream parlour, refreshments and toilets.
Only quarter of a mile from the beach is St George's Island (also known as Looe Island). In mediaeval days this was a monastic community and later a popular landing place for smugglers. When there is an exceptionally low Spring tide it is possible to walk to Looe Island but at other times, visitors can reach it by boat.
If beaches or water based activities are not your thing, then you can enjoy wandering the cobbled streets of the village with its' historic buildings, narrow twisting streets, interesting art galleries, antique and gift shops and a wide range of smugglers' taverns and fine restaurants. There is live music in many of the pubs each weekend and for anyone who just likes to chill out, relax, eat and drink, Looe continues to provide a good range of options all year round.
For anyone interested in a scenic rail journey, the Looe Valley railway offers a truly spectacular rail journey to Liskeard, an experience you would not wish to miss.

Nice location in centre of Looe parking close by, Appartment clean and tidy, would be abit crowded with 4 adults, 2 bedrooms abit miss leading as 1 is galleried landing bedroom.Bathroom door will only… More

Arrived on the Friday evening. After seeing the photos for the lovely apartment we were very shocked to see the state of the entrance - which was dirty & very tatty, don't think it has been cleaned this year! Once we had gone up two flights of stairs, we arrived at a very nice apartment, everything that you would need, although there wasn't a decent door or window in the place. Definately not suitable for three people not even 2+ child, the upper floor not safe for a child. So thought it was expensive for two berth. However we had a lovely holiday in Looe, gorgeous weather to boot! The parking space on the seafront was a blessing. There are plenty of pubs & restaurants within a very short walk, as is the harbour.

We are working with the owner to try and improve the communal entrance area which is a shared ownership situation so not directly controlled by the owner of the apartment. The apartment is mostly used by couples and is priced accordingly and competitively for the location, being just 1 minute walk to the beach, and the fact it includes very close parking which is a big bonus in East Looe. The use of the extra bedroom is at the discretion of guests regarding suitability and as explained in the property listing we do not recommend children under the age of 8 years due to the spiral staircase.

"Great parking included at location, better than average accommodation."
A tatty outside appearance and scruffy communal entrance stairway made our hearts sink. You have to ascend two flights of steep internal stairs to reach the apartment's own front door, which we hadn't been prepared for. Once you've got your puff back (we're not the youngest of reviewers), the accommodation has a smart kitchen (tho' no instructions for using the oven), better than average living room with over-size t.v. that comes with complimentary Sky package and an adequate bedroom - tho' the bedding had either been slept in or simply not ironed following launder. On close inspection, we decided it might be the latter. The star of this accommodation is its location - a short stone's throw from the seafront - and the parking that it comes with it(collect the parking permit from inside the apartment). The mattress isn't the best we've slept on, and whilst the flat was essentially clean there was evidence of dust gathering on surfaces that are routinely missed out from whatever cleaning regime exists in between visitors. Oh, and I am not forgetting that there is a spiral staircase (open stair treads) that leads from the sitting room up to a mezzanine, that accommodates a double bed (not made up)& another large t.v - way too precarious for young ones to attempt. The bathroom doesn't have a bath, but instead a large and efficient shower cubicle with an excellent showering experience. A better than average premises let down by the scruffy externals, and piecemeal housekeeping. And oh, curiously, not a single door in the accommodation has any latches nor has been varnished or painted - giving the impression it has been hastily finished in time for the letting season.
Thank you for you valued feedback. I am pleased to say the owners of Bay House have now dealt with the issue of the communal hallway and lobby area and have re-decorated it all themselves. This means the initial impression is now as good as the one you get when you walk into the apartment itself.
