A high standard, modernised 17th cent character cottage in the tiny & unspoilt village of Lansallos, 2 1/2 miles west of Polperro & 7 miles from Looe, East Cornwall. The cottage has been renovated & refurbished in recent years providing appealing and attractive accommodation. A quiet and picturesque rural setting. A few hundred yards from the cottage, beside the old 15th cent church, is the entrance to a tree lined footpath (called Smugglers Lane)through fields down to Lansallos beach (under 15 minutes walk). Stunning coastal walks all the way to Polperro (3 miles) and onwards to Looe; Polruan and beyond. Lansallos is a renowned beauty spot, a favourite with walkers and set within a National Trust area. Panoramic views from the double bedroom over roaming countryside with a distant view of the sea. The cottage is one of a terrace of 4 cottages and we also let the adjacent cottage which we code as Polperro 3. The cottage has a large enclosed side garden & a small front garden. Nearby Polperro is the prettiest & most photogenic of all Cornish fishing villages, with its narrow streets and colour-washed cottages. The cottages cling to the steep sides of a long ravine & surround the harbour. A smuggler's museum. Chat to the fishermen or watch catches being landed at the fish quay. Popular Looe has a fishing harbour, a myriad of quaint gift shops, Inns & adjacent beach. Boat trips (including mackerel fishing) available from the quay.

Bedroom 1 has 1 double bed. Bedroom 2 has 2 single beds. Large kitchen/diner with electric hob & oven, microwave, washing machine and fridge/freezer. Upstairs shower room with shower,heated towel rail, hand basin & toilet. Lounge with exposed beams & T.V. Night storage radiators in the lounge, kitchen & bedroom 1.

Travel Cot. Electric inclusive. Heating is inclusive having night storage radiators in the lounge, bedroom 1 and kitchen and also electric convector heaters in the bedrooms and an electric fire in the lounge.

There is an adjacent off the road parking space for 1 car. No pets.

The Cornwall region

Lansallos is a pretty and tiny coastal village set amidst the National Trust, a favourite with walkers and backpackers in the know. Leading from the old village church is a picturesque 15 minutes footpath walk down to Lansallos sandy beach. Experience the spectacular coastal walks with small sandy coves and beaches stretching all along the coast. In one direction you can walk all along the coast to Polperro a mere 2 miles further up the coast, and again onwards to Looe. In the opposite direction there are coastal walks the 4 miles to Polruan where you can take the ferry across the river to Fowey. Nearby Polperro is usually said to be the prettiest fishing village in Cornwall (after parking the car there is a choice of 4 ways to reach the harbour and village at the bottom of the hill - by horse bus, piscie carriage, landrover, or by foot a fifteen minutes walk). Polperro has a beautiful harbour, unique shops, pubs, cafes and whitwashed cottages ablaze with hanging baskets full of flowers. There is a small fish aquarium by the harbour (interesting as it hosts local fish species that can be caught off Polperro). A few miles further on from Polperro is larger Looe fishing village with a good size sandy beach. Boat mackerel fishing trips, beach side cafes, old pubs and retaurants (renowned for its fish restaurants) and lots of individual touristy shops. Looe is a working fishing village with lots of character, a real tourist attraction. Looe has a hidden away huge car park (on the Polperro side of Looe bridge) and a main attraction of Looe is that the sandy beach conveniently adjoins the old Inns, eating places, shops and cafes. Visit the city of Plymouth for the day, which is a 17 mile car trip away. Or enjoy the numerous National Trust houses and gardens of East Cornwall such as Mount Edgecumbe house and gardens. St Austell and the Eden Project are about 12 miles further down the coast.
