Bat's Belfry is situated at Hurdlow Grange which is a group of luxury farmhouses and barns that can sleep any combination of people between 4 and 43. Bat's Belfry has been converted to an exceptional standard mixing contemporary style with traditional buildings and features. Located around a central courtyard the complex has been designed to be equally good for small groups taking over one or two of the properties or a big party enjoying all the properties exclusively. For large groups both Bat's Belfry and Cruck'd Barn has a huge open plan dining/living area that everyone can dine and socialise in.
Sleeping up to 6 in 3 bedrooms it is a fantastic property with large open plan living/dining area with oak floors, granite worktops, original King Post trusses and exposed oak beams giving the place warmth and character. The accommodation has been turned upside down to take advantage of the properties character and views of the surrounding countryside which can be appreciated from the first floor living area. You enter the barn and off the hall to your left is one bedroom with two single beds (that can be joined on request), and a second bedroom with a double bed. The main bedroom at the end of the hall has two single beds (also can be joined ) and its own en suite bathroom, with bath/shower, hand basin and toilet. The main bathroom also on this floor has a bath with shower above, hand basin and toilet. The stairs lead to the very spacious open plan accommodation including luxurious leather sofas, traditional farmhouse dining table and fully equipped granite kitchen. There is a patio area for sitting out to the front of the barn and general use of grounds surrounding the properties location.

We take great pride in offering a very traditional style of hospitality complete with cosy pub atmosphere, great service, cask-conditioned ales, a fine selection of wines, and a menu of hearty homemade English pub food. Our prices are a guideline only and we really encourage you to email with your group size and the type of event you are planning to enable us to send an up to date quote. We have a range of properties on our peak venues website so if this one is not available we may be able to offer a great alternative.
Our weekend prices in the busy season are for a 3 night stays from 3pm Friday to 10am Monday. We offer a set weekend price to give you the added flexibility of being able to relax and enjoy the property until as late as you like on the Sunday, even if you don't actually stay overnight till Monday morning.
Shorter mid week stays of 1 or 2 nights can be negotiated by arrangement. Payment can be made by card or BACS transfer.

The Peak District National Park region
The rich diversity of the scenery has been attracting visitors to Derbyshire and the Peak District for many centuries, so much so that The Peak National Park is the second most visited Park in the World. But, it is not just for not just for the beauty of its landscapes that people come.
There are many treasures to be found in the area the grandest of which is Chatsworth House, set in beautiful parkland it attracts visitors from all over the world.
Theme parks that provide enough excitement even for the most ardent fun seeker, show caverns, an owl and otter sanctuary, interesting museums and ancient castles are just a small part of the regions attractions.
The Peak District offers enchanting villages, historic towns such as Buxton, Ashbourne and Bakewell and glorious ever changing landscapes are all close by. Perhaps best known as walking country, the Peak District National Park offers a spectacular variety of scenery and routes to be explored – from steep sided limestone dales to the dramatic high moorlands. There is something for everyone – individuals, families and groups – whether you want a challenging hike or a short stroll
Lapwing is situated two miles from the the beautiful Peak village of Longnor is located on the Staffordshire Moorlands between the River Dove to the East and the River Manifold to the West, making it an ideal location to see this stunning area. The village has numerous shops, a post office, excellent craft centre and a tea-room, and the village church is also of interest. The old cobbled market square is in the heart of the village and its history can be found on a board outside the market hall that shows the charges that stall holders used to pay.
Buxton is a short 10 minute drive from Lapwing and is a famous spa town in Derbyshire, known as the capital of the Peak District National Park. Buxton lies 300 metres above sea level – making it the highest town of its size in England.
Most notable architecture comprises of The Crecent which is modelled on Baths Royal Crecent, the Devonshire dome a large unsupported 44 metre dome which beats St Pauls Cathedral of 34 metres and the famous Buxton Opera House designed by Frank Matcham in 1903, which is and is the highest opera house in the country. He also designed several London theatres, including the London Palladium and the London Coliseum. Attached to the Opera House is the Pavilion Gardens, designed by Edward Milner, covering 23 acres of gardens and ponds.
Buxton is home to Poole's Cavern, an extensive limestone cavern open to the public, and St Ann's Well,by the Crescent which is fed by a geothermal spring.
Around the surrounding area of Buxton you will find the Blue John Caverns, Go Ape Adventure Park,, this high-wire adventure course is set 40ft above ground in the tree-tops of woodland adjoining Poole’s Cavern. The Goyt Valley and Chatsworth House where several costume dramas have been filmed for the BBC, and many picturesque towns and villages such as Bakewell and Matlock within an easy drive.
