"Beautiful modern furnished comfortable dwelling suits both for families and larger groups - Awesome A+ owners"
We booked both lodges as we were two families with children. We also had some odd dates which Jill fully accommodated. The booking of the lodge from the start to finish had been a smooth experience. We contacted the owner through holiday lettings and I got the quotation on the property promptly. I called Jill to check the facilities available at the cottage, Jill was very helpful and she explained me all facilities as well as gave me directions to the cottage. Jill was also flexible about early check in as well as leaving our stuff at the cottage earlier if we wanted to go an see places. We had excellent communications with the owners over the email and phone. During our stay, we had a minor problem with the wash basin stopper getting stuck and we called the owner and she got it sorted straightaway. The cottages are located in a very beautiful ad quiet rural location. Children enjoyed walking and playing outside in the fields. The lodges are furnished with TV in each rooms as well as iphone docking music stations.Kitchen and bathrooms are very modern and we did not have to buy anything. There is ample storage in each of the bedrooms so you can stash your clothes. There is a fast WIFI available at the property, a lot of electric sockets and very good lighting. The lodges are located very close to forest of dean. There are a number of walks available around the area. The one thing not to miss is Puzzlewood which is about 15 miles from the lodge. Close to puzzlewood is also Clearwell caves which is a great experience as well. Amenities are located in Newent which is not too far from the lodges. There are a few pubs around the area. Lastly, I have recommended the place to many of our friends already as we just loved it. We had a great holiday. Thank you Jill for the hospitality.
It was a pleasure to accommodate you and our dogs loved playing with your children! Hope to see you again and thank you for your comments. Much appreciated!

"Fantastic rural retreat - perfect for families and larger groups if you take both lodges"
Both lodges are very modern and niceley presented throughout. Both have a well equipped kitchenette and living rooms. They are located on a quiet country lane with easy access to footpaths pretty much straight from the accomodation with 2 country pubs located a mile in either direction. If you leave the bedroom window open you're likely to be woken up by the resident cockerell and lambs! The owner was very nice and welcoming too. Overall a really great place to stay so would be happy to recommend
Thanks very much for taking the trouble to write a review for us. Really pleased to enjoyed yourselves! Jill & Wayne

"A fabulous property finished to a very high standard."
This is a very nice cottage with a lot of character but not in the old sense; It has had a lot of thought put into making a holiday let that works. The layout is very open and the décor is modern and comfortable, the kitchen is fitted out with modern appliances and provide you with everything you need, even down to a cafetiere. It is warm, conformable and very enjoyable. Perfect for a cycling, walking or climbing holiday with plenty of outdoors things to do. I would certainly recommend this to a friend and will be returning in the future. Thank you for a really nice weekend.
Your comments are much appreciated. It is really good to hear that you will be back as well!

"A lovely place to stay in a great area."
I stayed here for a week with my family, 6 adults and 2 children from the 21st july 2012., We had the gypsys loft and stall. Both upstairs and downstairs where fitted out to a very high standard. Everything we needed for a weeks stay was supplied, The accomodation was excellent and so was the location. Communication with the owner was great and she was very helpful. We had a great holiday and a lovely stay at the gypsys retreat . We would stay there again, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to friends and family.
Thanks very much for your comments. We are really pleased you had a good time. Hope to see you again!
