Le Figuier is located in l'Hammeau, at the heart of the village. It features one of the three pigeonnier towers at Longeveau!

The property is centred around an open plan living area with plenty of space for living and dining, plus an open plan kitchen. Leading off from this is the ground floor twin bedroom (which can be turned into a double if needed). This adjoins a separate shower room / wc. Upstairs in the tower is the main bedroom, with en-suite shower & bath, and views looking into the village centre.

The property is equipped with dishwasher, washing machine and all of the utensils you might need to enjoy your stay. The cottage is bright, naturally ventilated and enjoys views out across the swiiming pool, to the Charente and Dordogne countryside beyond. The living area leads out onto a covered terrace with a table, chairs and BBQ for enjoying the long summer evenings. The garden (fenced for the little ones) leads onto the pool which is shared with the other four properties in l'Hammeau.

Le Figuier provides modern living with the benefits of rural France on your doorstep. Together with all of the other facilities at Longeveau, only a couple minutes stroll away, the Figuier is the perfect location to relax and unwind.

Additional beds can be put in some properties for increased accommodation and twin or double combinations can be altered if required. Cots, high chairs and plenty of other baby bits are available if needed. Internet access, wifi and TV (with Sky Sports) are available from the bar, while some cottages have TV / DVDs.

Please note that we have several other equally charming two-bedroomed cottages on site, as well as a choice of smaller or larger properties.

Longeveau itself is a very relaxed environment for families, groups and couples. Within the grounds we offer a range of facilities to make your holiday as relaxed or enjoyable as you wish it to be. As well as a superb range of facilities, we offer the opportunity for families or groups to socialise with others. Or simply appreciate the peace and quiet of your own company! Above all, we offer you the opportunity to relax, refresh and enjoy...

Our 'Salle de Soins' (treatment room) offers a range of massages and treatments for you to indulge in!

Our 9 hole FFG golf course is a challenge to golfers of all abilities. We have three all-weather tennis courts, a sports barn with compact tennis, basketball etc., a table tennis barn and boules pitch. We have five swimming pools (two heated / three private) plus a children's splash pool and plenty of space to relax in or explore. Golf and tennis coaching is available from local English speaking PGA / CCA qualified professionals.

For our younger guests, there is a play area, a toddlers play area, a secret play house and a crèche that runs throughout the summer. Our restaurant serves great food and shares a terrace with the bar, with south facing views across the grounds and the valley.

The Aquitaine/Dordogne region

The region is known for it's great climate with sun drenched summers, rolling green hills and valleys as far as you can see, plus all the history you could ever need. The food and drink is superb and the people are welcoming. The area is a paradise for wine lovers who may wish to visit the numerous chateaux and wine caves on the Bordeaux wine trail.

Longeveau

Longeveau is located on the Charente / Dordogne border in a beautiful valley in rural South West France. Nearby villages are full of activity, with places to visit, dine and drink. The picturesque old Roman town of Aubeterre, which was recently voted one of the prettiest villages in France, is only a bike ride away. Discover the 12th century subterranean church carved out of the rock or enjoy a drink on the village square with it's variety of shops, eateries and museums, all overlooked by a 1,000 year old chateau. Alternatively walk down to the river beach for a swim, relax or a bite to eat.

The market town of Riberac (20 mins) has one of the biggest markets in France! The capital towns of Angouleme and Perigueux (45 mins) offer a wider and more sophisticated range of shops in a typically French setting. Brantome, nicknamed the 'Venice of Perigord' is well worth a visit at a similar distance. Also within easy reach are towns such as St. Emilion, Bergerac, Cognac and Bordeaux, all famous for their wines and spirits and equally beautiful places to visit.

Local activities range from walking, sight seeing, tree climbing, canoeing, cycling, fishing, or even jet–skiing and quad biking to name but a few. Wine tasting and degustation are of course a staple part of the French experience! There are a variety of local festivals, fetes and firework displays that take place throughout the summer in the local villages and towns. These are aimed at all ages and generally take place between the months of June and September.

Children will find plenty to occupy themselves and their families with activities ranging from crazy golf, horse riding and tree top adventure's to daytrip's to the popular attractions of Aqualand Water Park, La Palmyre Zoo and Futuroscope. Longeveau is fortunate to have a number of very good restaurants in the area, ranging from cafés to fine dining. As with everything, our staff will be happy to recommend or help you with decisions.

"Excellent ground floor and patio accommodation"

We stayed here for the first time on our twelfth visit to Longeveau. We absolutely lovely the generous ground floor accommodation with plenty of space for relaxing inside, eating inside and eating outside on the covered terrace overlooking the pool and over to the rolling fields of sweet corn.

The main bedroom located on the ground floor was spacious with ample storage space and a bathroom outside so almost en suite. The second bedroom was located in the Pigonnier on the first floor with en suite bathroom (with bath a real bonus).

The property is situated on its own small garden and is located by a swimming pool for the sole use of the 6 properties in that area.
