This charming cottage, to the rear of the Manoir back garden, was once the home of the most famous pig in France! Although he was obviously well cosseted, he would definitely not recognise his quarters now.
La Porcherie consists of an open plan kitchen, dining and living area with double doors opening out onto a private terrace and a shared garden. The property has been attractively renovated with one double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a shower room / w.c. A small terrace and garden to the front enjoys the morning sun, while the back of the property benefits from the afternoon / evening sun and views out across the golf course and valley.
The property comes equipped with all of your tableware and kitchen requirements and laundry facilities are provided close by.
Additional beds can be put in some properties for increased accommodation and twin or double combinations can be altered if required. Cots, high chairs and plenty of other baby bits are available if needed. Internet access, wifi and TV (for sports and significant events) are available from the bar, while some cottages have TV / DVDs and wifi. The garden is furnished with sun loungers, outside dining and a BBQ for the long summer days!
Please note that we have several other equally charming two-bedroomed cottages on site, as well as a choice of smaller or larger properties.
Longeveau itself is a small hamlet in a beautiful valley designated by the Michelin Guide as 'A Place of Special Beauty'. Within the estate we offer a superb range of facilities to make your holiday as relaxed or enjoyable as you wish it to be. We offer the opportunity for families or groups to socialise with others, or simply appreciate the peace and quite of your own company!
Our 9 hole FFG golf course is a challenge to golfers of all abilities. We have three all-weather tennis courts, a sports barn with compact tennis, basketball etc., a table tennis barn and boules pitch. We have five swimming pools (two heated / three private) plus a children's splash pool and plenty of space to relax in or explore. Golf and tennis coaching is available from local English speaking PGA / CCA qualified professionals.
For our smaller guests we have a play area, a toddlers play area, a secret play house and a crèche that runs throughout the summer. Our restaurant serves great food and shares a terrace with the bar, with south facing views across the grounds and the valley.

The Poitou-Charentes region
The region is known for it's great climate with sun drenched summers, rolling green hills and valleys as far as you can see, plus all the history you could ever need. The food and drink is superb and the people are welcoming. The area is a paradise for wine lovers who may wish to visit the numerous chateaux and wine caves on the Bordeaux wine trail.
Longeveau is located on the Charente / Dordogne border in a beautiful valley in rural South West France. Nearby villages are full of activity, with places to visit, dine and drink. The picturesque old Roman town of Aubeterre, which was recently voted one of the prettiest villages in France, is only a bike ride away. Discover the 12th century subterranean church carved out of the rock or enjoy a drink on the village square with it's variety of shops, eateries and museums, all overlooked by a 1,000 year old chateau. Alternatively walk down to the river beach for a swim, relax or a bite to eat.
The market town of Riberac (20 mins) has one of the biggest markets in France! The capital towns of Angouleme and Perigueux (45 mins) offer a wider and more sophisticated range of shops in a typically French setting. Brantome, nicknamed the 'Venice of Perigord' is well worth a visit at a similar distance. Also within easy reach are towns such as St. Emilion, Bergerac, Cognac and Bordeaux, all famous for their wines and spirits and equally beautiful places to visit.
Local activities range from walking, sight seeing, tree climbing, canoeing, cycling, fishing, or even jet–skiing and quad biking to name but a few. Wine tasting and degustation are of course a staple part of the French experience! There are a variety of local festivals, fetes and firework displays that take place throughout the summer in the local villages and towns. These are aimed at all ages and generally take place between the months of June and September.
Children will find plenty to occupy themselves and their families with activities ranging from crazy golf, horse riding and tree top adventure's to daytrip's to the popular attractions of Aqualand Water Park, La Palmyre Zoo and Futuroscope. Longeveau is fortunate to have a number of very good restaurants in the area, ranging from cafés to fine dining. As with everything, our staff will be happy to recommend or help you with decisions.

"Lovely family holiday!"
We have just had the pleasure of spending two weeks at Longeveau with our 15 month old toddler!
After quite a long stressful journey we arrived in the dark and the rain with a toddler in full melt down and were really hoping the Manoir would meet our expectations, we weren't to be disappointed!!
From the warm welcome by the staff who had been patiently been awaiting our arrival, to the attention to detail in the provision of equipment for our adventurous toddler (both in the cottages and around longeveau) we can not fault the service offered and thoroughly recommend Longeveau for families of young children!
We spent our second week at longeveau in La Porcherie a beautifully light and airy 2 bedroom property. The moment we sat on the private terrace enjoying the evening sun over the golf course and countryside, we were sold!! Our toddler loved the open space offered both inside the property and in the communal garden at the back where she was able to toddle about safely and also the trees offered some welcome shade when the sun was blazing!
We made full use of the 2 children's play areas on a daily basis which both offered a variety of well maintained equipment perfect for toddlers and young children, she particularly loved the stunning hand made gypsy caravan!!
We joined in the weekly BBQ night and also had 2 meals in the restaurant whilst we were there, whilst not fine dining the food was great, the service relaxed and friendly and the menu reflective of any traditional French restaurant in this area!
We did a number of trips during our stay including visits to Angoulem, Bordeaux and Brantome, however highlights for us were lazy sunny days by the river or the square in Aubeterre and the nearby lake beach at La Jemaye.
All in all it was a fabulous holiday despite some dubious weather at times (which we can't hold Longeveau responsible for) and we can't recommend longeveau enough as a perfect family holiday location!
