Home description
Our place in Andalucia is a very old and traditional Spanish house and will accommodate up to six people on two floors. Situated in the small village of Salar near Loja in the Province of Granada. Salar is a typical whitewashed Spanish village. The main occupation of its residents is Olive farming and although they speak no English they will give any visitor a very warm welcome. The sound of bells are often heard as the village goat herd meanders down the street to spend the day on the surrounding hills or on its returns in the evening.

The Costa Tropical/Granada region
The natural beauty of the area is breathtaking, a haven for walkers and bird watchers. Within half an hours drive you can visit the historic cities of Granada, Alhama de Granada, and Antiquera. On the outskirts of Granada there is the world heritage site of Alhambra Palace, often rated as one of the Seven Wonders of the World; it is not to be missed. A full day will need to be set aside for a visit. A further 30 minutes drive will find you high up in the Sierra Nevada where it is possible to ski 52 weeks a year.
Loja / Salar area
Salar is a small village near Loja in the Province of Granada. Salar is a typical whitewashed Spanish village with approximately 3000 inhabitants. The main occupation of its residents is Olive farming and although they speak no English they will give any visitor a very warm welcome. The way of life although modern in some ways is also like stepping back in time some 30 years. Everyone has time to stand and stare or pass the time of day with anyone able to converse with them. The sound of bells are often heard as the village goat herd meanders down the street to spend the day on the surrounding hills or returns in the evening. The village is self sufficient in shops and bars. There are a number of bakers (one within 1 minutes walk of the house) that bake on the premises each day, a couple of wet fish shops (one is closer than the baker) and a number of mini supermarkets. The bars range from pure drinking establishments to one that supplies takeaway pizzas and others that are bar/restaurants. There are a number of banks with cash machines which accept UK cards with on screen instructions in English.
How to get there
Ryanair fly into Granada airport from East Midlands, Liverpool & Stansted airports. Our house is less than 30 minutes away from Granada airport and all but the last 4 Km is on motorway. Ryanair, Easyjet and many other low cost airlines fly into Malaga airport. Our house is 1 hour from Malaga and again all but the last 4Km is motor way. We find that Carjet.co.uk are alway competitive and offer cars from a selection of local rental companies.

Further details outdoors: The garden is equipped with table and chairs to seat 6. Part of the garden is shaded by a number of grape vines. A large BBQ is provided. From the garden there are stunning views across the hills.

Our Place in Andalucia is looked after locally by an English couple who will make the house ready for guests. A welcome pack can be supplied on arrival if required. There is a lovely swimming pool in the village which is available during school holidays.
Conditions
A deposit of £75 per week is required with the confirmation of booking The balance is due 4 weeks prior to arrival. The rental can start on any day of the week. There is no minimum rental period. A refundable deposit of £100 will be returned on receipt of the keys and a satisfactory inspection report.
