The Brittany / Finistere region
Bar at 50m, local shops, restaurants and bars at Lolctudy(2k),which is one of the five Artisan fishing ports from Douarnenez to Loctudy that are responsible for 25% of all the fresh fish landed in France. Not a very developed tourist area, but lots to do and see. Boats trips to the Glenan islands from Loctudy and an excellent shopping centre at Quimper, and the bustling resort of Benodet a 15 minute drive.
The Loctudy area
Guilvinec - Guilvinec owes its prosperity to crayfish and lobsters, and it has remained an important fishing port, the fourth largest in France.
The whole economy of the district, from fish auctions and canneries to naval dockyards, is dependent on the sea. A sight not to be missed is the return of the trawlers at about 4 p.m. every day.
