Tucked away in an old farming hamlet yet close to the delightful village of Locmariaquer, which sits at the entrance to the Gulf du Morbihan, looking across to Port Navellou. This spacious well appointed modern villa overlooks ancient salt lagoons and across the dunes to the beaches of Kerpenhir. One of our most popular properties, not least for the wonderful welcome from the owner who also owns the little superette, adjacent to the property, which makes morning trips for the croissants and bread, just a stroll through the garden! The Brittany region

Access to the property is through an old farming hamlet. The house looks out over the now abandoned salt marshes to the sand dunes and beaches of Kerpenhir.

Locmariaquer, the local town, is the nearest shops. And it is the entrance to the spectacular Gulf du Morbihan. You can take boat trips from here around the Gulf or a passenger only ferry to Port Navalo across the Gulf entrance a short trip of a few minutes, but a 50 mile drive!

There are numerous beaches all along this coast, the marina at La Trinite is one of the best in France and hosts many international regattas. There are two great megaliths near Locmariaquer; Grand Menhir Brise the largest know standing stone and Tables des Marchands

Locmariaquer

The Ile aux Moines contains pretty villas and is covered with sub-tropical vegetation - camelias, mimosas, orange trees - and woodlands with poetic sounding names, while the Ile d'Arz seems barren and unwelcoming at first signt.

Both islands have fishing villages with quaint cottages and lanes, several megaliths and pleasant beaches from which to paddle or swim.

The Ile aux Moines (monk's island) is the larger and is easily accessible as there are sailings every 15 minutes in season from Port-Blanc. The Ile d'Arz is linked to the mainland by ferry from Conleau.
