Access to the lodge is via a single track road from Lochinver. In front of the lodge, a large garden with a well maintained lawn leads down to the shore of the Loch. There are lounges with real fires, a large dining room, and 12 bedrooms, including a downstairs wheelchair accessible en suite - providing comfortable sleeping for 28+ people. The well-equipped main kitchen has a range cooker and a conventional gas-hobbed cooker and there is ample fridge and freezer space. There are large baths, a table tennis table and piano. Bed-linen and towels are provided. The lodge is centrally heated by a woodchip boiler central heating system.
Catering options include full evening meals, Scottish cooked breafasts, packed lunches to take out during the day, buffets, and wedding receptions.The estate has a range of sporting and leisure equipment available for hire. This equipment is available to those staying in the Lodge.- Kayaks: We have 6 sea/touring kayaks, 1 double sea/touring kayak and 6 general purpose kayaks.- We have an inflatable 3.6m Zodiac inflatable RIB/safety boat complete with 8hp outboard motor. All boats come with safety bouyancy aids, oars, spraydecks, and helmets as appropriate.- Fly Fishing rods and reels: We have 9 good quality fly rods and 6 fly reels, Flies and leaders can be purchased in Lochinver. We hope to be able to supply these directly in the near future.- Fishing permits and fishing boats are also available. Permits can be arranged in advance or else obtained at short notice in Lochinver. - Deerstalking rifles: The Estate also has two full bore rifles (by Styer Mannlicher) suitable for those booking deerstalking with one of our professional stalkers.
The Scottish Highlands region
The estate offers the most spectacular and challenging red stag and hind stalking in the country. We currently shoot around 80 stags each season in this breathtaking mountain region in the far north west of Scotland. Accompanied by our expert stalkers, guests enjoy an unrivalled world class hunting experience. The stag stalking season runs from 1 July to 20 October; the hind season is from 21 October to 15 February. Use of estate rifles and ammunition is possible.Guided camera stalking for red deer takes you deep into the awe-inspiring landscape of the Estates. Experience all the thrill of the hunt with one of our professional and experienced stalker guides, taking you close enough to red deer for some excellent 'shots'. Digital camera hire and digital photo printing and CD-burning are available. One person to one guide: ?30 per hour. Two persons to one guide: ?20 each per hour. It is recommended that at least 4 hours be booked for likelihood of good deer shots.The estate offer some of the very finest trout fishing in Britain. All fishing on the estate is managed by a unique partnership of landowners and local anglers which forms one of the biggest single areas of brown trout fishing to be accessible with one single permit, in the whole of Britain and perhaps Europe.Permits can be purchased through the Foundation or a number of other local retailers, with a single ticket allowing fishing on around two hundred lochs and lochans. Brown trout permits cost from ?5 per person per day, or ?25 per week. Boats are available on many lochs, for ?10 (up to three people per boat), and ?8-10 for hire of an engine. Package deals can be arranged for fishing groups of up to 20 or more people with permits and boats included in the overall price. Fly rod and reel hire is also available. The brown trout fishing season runs from March 15th to October 7th.
Perfect for a strenuous walking holiday, with open fires and woodburning stoves waiting for you on your return from the hills and mountains. Or perhaps you just want to potter around the quiet lawns of the lodge gazing at the views, or take a boat around the wooded islands of the beautiful loch at the foot of the lodge's gardens.Rowing boats and kayaks are available to hire at very reasonable prices. Trout fishing permits can be obtained for fishing on literally hundreds of lochs and lochans in the area.Lochinver has a visitors' centre, leisure centre, post office, bank (with ATM), medical practice, and many shops. There is a programme of arts and music events at Lochinver Village Hall, and a programme of talks organized by the Field Club. There are regular ceilidhs at Stoer Village Hall and elsewhere. Visitors are always made to feel very welcome. There are many places to eat out.
