About this location
The Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park region
This area of Scotland is known as Argyll, and is renowned for its wild and rugged scenery. Peppered with sea and inland lochs and miles of often remote coastline, it is a favourite area for visitors from all over the world.
Driving through the historic towns brings a variety of interesting curio shops, museums, places to eat and visitor attractions. Popular places include the living museum at Inveraray Jail, Inveraray Castle, the underground power station at Loch Awe, take a cruise on Loch Lomond or try Quad Biking at Quadmania overlooking Loch Long.
The area is also renowned for its food and produce, with Loch Fyne Oysters being just half an hour from Lochgoilhead, as well as the microbrewery Fyne Ales where you can visit their tap room and have a brewery tour.
Argyll offers a truly great variety of places to go and things to do.

Lochgoilhead, although only around an hour's drive from Glasgow, has a remote, relaxed feel to it. Situated within the Loch Lomond National Park, the village is a paradise for walkers, water sport enthusiasts, those who love 'the great outdoors', and those who are just looking for somewhere to crash out!
Due to the fact the village is at the end of the road, there is very little through traffic, couple this with good amenities at the local hotels leisure centre, the village is very popular with young families during the traditional holiday periods. The village has also become popular with retirees, many who visit to enjoy the tranquillity, or have retired to the area, often having enjoyed decades of memorable holidays in the village.
While some never leave the glen during their stay, many use the village as base to explore the west coast, either down through the Kintyre Peninsula, or further west to the Oban area. Just over one hour north is magnificent Glencoe which was the Scottish setting in the latest Bond film, Skyfall, as well parts of the Harry Potter movies.
Whatever your choice, active or relaxed, Lochgoilhead is a wonderful place that often captures the hearts of those who visit.

"Great property, amazing loch views!!"
Went with 7 others to Loch Goilhead for a friends wedding and spent three nights in the great Shoreside Cottage.
Was modern, spacious, clean and situated right on Loch Goil so had amazing loch views from the nicely landscaped garden at the front and from the three front bedrooms and lounge room.
As there was a lot of us under one roof it was great to have two bathrooms and a large well equipped kitchen along with another beautifully landscaped garden out the back.
So if you're looking for a property close to a bit of village life and stunning loch views with the local pub and shop only a few minutes walk away this is the one for you.
A perfect stay!

"Perfect place to see with beautiful view"
We stayed at Shoreside Cottage in October and were delighted with the cottage. We stayed with three adults and three children and it was perfect accommodation with everything you can need. The views were amazing and a great base from which to start a number of great walks.
We also ventured to Drumsynie to take the children swimming. I found this poor by comparison and would stick to the gorgeous cottage next time.
We would definitely go again and our children are asking for us to return as soon as possibe.

"Fantastic place to visit and stay"
I traveled with my wife, 3 young children and my brother's family with two children to Lochgoilhead. The Shoreside cottage is perfect place for large family to stay. The property is well maintained with all facilities included. Upon reception, we found the property with heating switched on for us and all the beds were ready. Kitchen was also good with al the daily life facilities. Highly recommended for visitors.
