Very spacious ground floor flat in old Victorian villa with its own private front door giving guests direct access to the large garden edging the sea loch and leading directly to the shore via a wee slipway.

The picturesque Crinan Canal, immediately across the road, is ideal for biking and walks / jogs along the tow path. Crinan Canal passes through 9 miles of beautiful countryside from Ardrishaig on Loch Gilp ( part of Loch Fyne ) to the wee village of Crinan where Para Handy's famous old Clyde Puffer - the Vital Spark is moored. The tow path is part of The National Cycling Network

You can smell the sea and hear the oystercatchers, ducks and seabirds from the house or garden. The house despite its age is well equipped for the present with modern kitchen, separate dining room and pleasant sitting room with wood-burning stove. There are two good-sized double bedrooms (or twin if desired - just ask ) and there's a comfortable sofa bed in the sitting room should there be an extra guest. Wi fi is free. Heating and cooking is by prepaid electric meter and £80 credit is supplied for your use for the week you come to stay,

The large garden ground provides ample parking for cars and trailers and there's a lockable shed for bikes.The wee slipway leads down to the edge of the shore and gives access for guests with canoes, kayaks or small boats.

Lots to do in the area including walking, biking, water sports, etc. The bowling green and tennis courts are less than 5 mins walk from the house. There is a local indoor swimming pool at Lochgilphead (approx. 1 mile away). Seaside House is situated about half way between Lochgilphead and Ardrishaig on the route to Campbeltown.

Boat trips are available in summer from Crinan and Ardfern including the exciting sail to the Corryvreckan whirlpool.

Seaside is a great base for touring the west coast and the world famous Mull of Kintyre peninsula jutting out to the Atlantic rollers and home to Paul MacCartney of Beatles fame. The Isles of Arran, Gigha and Islay with its 8 malt whisky distilleries are nearby and accessible by ferry. Tarbert on Loch Fyne is a bustling colourful wee fishing port only 12 miles south of here and to the north on the Oban road is Dalriada steeped in the ancient history of the Scots with Druid standing stones at Kilmartin a very interesting museum and ruined castles to explore

Nearby Lochgilphead has a selection of excellent eateries and quality gift shops. There 's a good family butchers in the main street and a large supermarket at the top of the town. Folk wishing to hire bikes or requiring repairs will find an excellent bike shop on the main street in Lochgilphead

This is an area of outstanding natural beauty with wonderful views of the loch and birdlife from the garden.

We are on the main A82/A83 route from Glasgow and Glasgow Airport is approx 2 - 2.5 hours.

There's a fast reliable bus service with City Link and Westcoast Motors from Buchanan Street bus station in Glasgow and very good links from there to Edinburgh and other cities and towns.

The even more spacious 1st floor flat in the same property is now available for holiday letting This has 3 bedrooms, sitting room with log burning stove, large open plan kitchen/dining room and wonderful sea views. The heating and cooking are by metered electricity and like the ground flat credit will be supplied. The two flats would be excellent for groups of up to 10 but unsuitable for 'hens' or 'stags'

Argyll is most definitely one of the most beautiful and interesting counties of Scotland with its lochs and glens and misty hills, wonderful gardens, castles and ancient ruins, twisting winding roads, a challenge for even the better drivers; a walking and water sports paradise -Argyll's larder has the best of Scottish food from the sea, the rivers, the land and the many islands -

Plenty of local knowledge on hand - where to purchase or eat good sea food etc. - How to organise an excursion to Iona , Staffa or any of the islands -


The garden offers plenty barbeque space and is an interesting observation point for watching oystercatchers, eider ducks and herons.

The shore offers the possiblity of digging for razor fish as the sea loch is tidal and the sand flats stretch for over half a kilometre -

When the tide comes in stone skimming is a challenge for the whole family-

Wellies and wet weather gear are very useful to make the most of the varied climate

4 miles north is Dunadd where the ancient kings were crowned - climb the hillock and put your foot in the place where they stood and then go on to Kilmartin museum and investigate the past - the bronze age burial chambers, Temple Wood and much more -

There's too much in the area to mention here but lots of personal & family local knowledge is available to guests on request and brochures and notes will be supplied in the flats.
