There is a bright modern kitchen, a sitting room with a wood burner and the dining room has doors leading to a decked area. Accommodation is provided by three spacious bedrooms, an en-suite shower room and a family bathroom, and outside there is a decked area, large lawned terrace, garden furniture and barbecue. The garden has a burn (Scottish word for stream) at the bottom. The location of this property is very special and offers welcoming and comfortable accommodation that makes an ideal base to discover the area or simply a place to get away from it all and makes a memorable holiday base for the whole family.

The Central Scotland / Strathclyde / Argyll and Bute region
From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the rugged landscapes of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. The beautiful countryside of Dumfries and Galloway is littered with fortresses and strongholds, testimony to its dramatic history. Moving north, the Highlands are to Scotland what the Pyrenees are to France, with equally breathtaking scenery and fantastic opportunities for walking and mountaineering. Aviemore and the Cairngorms National Park are particularly famous for skiing, whilst Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in Britain at 1343m, is a firm favourite for those seeking a challenge. For the less energetic, the Whisky Trail provides a unique way of exploring many of Scotland’s attractions and for quieter moments, there’s always Loch Ness and a chance to spot the elusive monster! Scotland also has some of Britain’s best and cleanest beaches. Cromarty is famous for its bottle-nosed dolphins and Nairn, whilst claiming to be one of the sunniest and driest places in the country, has glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam. Several islands lie off the Scottish coast, each with their own character and heritage, however the Isle of Skye is probably the best known and most visited. As the largest of the Inner Hebrides, Skye’s turbulent geological past has bequeathed it a stunning coastline. Experienced walkers are drawn to the Black Cuillin Mountains, whilst those less experienced have an array of lower level coastal walks from which to choose or alternatively, visitors can take some time to visit Skye’s capital, the charming harbour town of Portree.
The Lochgilphead / Kilmartin area
Set in the heart of the Kilmartin Glen is the village of Kilmartin. The Glen is one of the major prehistoric sites in Scotland, and within a six mile radius there are standing stones, the remains of an Iron-Age fort at Dunadd, rock carvings and burial cairns, making the region a fascinating area for history buffs. Kilmartin itself has a museum and visitor centre, two castles and a variety of shops providing all amenities for visitors. Eight miles away the town of Lochgilphead has a choice of cafes, craft shops, and other stores. Loch Awe is the longest inland loch in Scotland and there are some lovely walks around the loch and fishing is also available. This area is a super base to discover the joys of this stunning part of Scotland.

Fantastic location, and the open log fire sold it for us. Free use of good quality mountain bikes, and offered free use of fishing boat. Excellent hosts who were the most helpful and friendly people, plus the regular top up of kindling & logs for the fire. Would definitely return and would recommend to anybody.

Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental.
Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday.
"Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.
