Welcome to the beautiful Chateau St Germain. This exceptional chateau rental was constructed in 1820 by the current owner’s family and embodies everything a romantic French chateau should; elegant décor, awe inspiring towers and turrets and intricate stone masonry. It is located in a mature woodland setting with beautiful views to the east across the castles lawns, the local village and the 10 hectares of private parkland.
The Chateau Saint Germain has an elegant and spacious interior and accommodates 13 guests in 7 luxurious bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. The ground floor is home to a modern kitchen, a spacious living room, the dining room and a charming salon.
Outdoors is a sizable heated swimming pool with pool house and a terrace with barbeque, perfect for al fresco dining on long summer evenings. The local village of Saint Jean is a just short, pleasant stroll from the chateau. 4 miles away is the larger town of Loches, rated one of the most magnificent medieval towns in France, which offers plenty of shops, restaurants, sights, music & theatrical events. The Loire Valley / Indre-et-Loire region
The Loire Valley's principal glory are the many glorious chateaux that stud the banks of the river Loire and its tributaries. The Loire valleys lavish palaces, castles, manoirs and their splendid gardens are among the France’s primary attractions. Some of the more popular and most visited chateaux include: Angers, Amboise, Azay-le-Rideau, Blois, Chenonceaux, Chambord, Cheverny, and Villandry. Orléans, the ancient Roman city is the region's capital, and historically one of France's major centres of learning. Interestingly in 1429, Joan of Arc won a famous victory against the invading British forces in the city who had laid siege to Orléans for several months. Southeast of Orléans is the town of Sancerre, where one of the Loire’s, and indeed France’s most famous white wines is produced. The Loire valley boasts 22 world-famous wines, Loire wines are famous for their subtlety. Some of the more illustrious Loire wines include: Sancerre, Valencay, Montlouis, Pouilly Fouisse and Vouvray. The Loire valley has wonderful cheeses Crottin de Chavignol and Sainte-Maure de Touraine, superb fish, world famous wine, eating in this quarter of France is hard to beat. The sport on offer to holiday makers in the Loire valley is first rate.

Further details indoors: The chateau is both spacious and elegant with a modern kitchen, a living room, the dining room and a salon. There are 3 standard double/twin bedrooms and 2 further double/twins that have connecting bedrooms, making a total of 7 within the chateau. Five of the bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms. There is also sky TV and Wi-Fi access throughout the chateau. There are 2 cots and 2 high chairs available for those with infants.
Further details outdoors: In the grounds there is a secure heated swimming pool with pool furniture and sun loungers. There is also a BBQ area and terrace, a table tennis table, volleyball equipment, free access to bicycles and private woodland parks ideal for walks. Locally there is tennis and golf (driving range) within 2 miles. St. Jean (500m) has the river Indre with a water fall that is very popular.
