Home description
In the centre of France, close to the large Loire castles just north of the nature reserve Parc de la Brenne culture, nature and gastronomy coincide. Right here the tastefully renovated watermill: “Moulin de Courcueil” is situated. The mill and its outbuildings among trees, orchard and large lawns were built in 1860 and are still on its 7 hectares of grounds on the picturesque Tourmente river. In one of the outbuildings is a comfortable, furnished, fully equipped holiday home for six/eight persons. It is the perfect opportunity for people to go cycling, walking, fishing, and finding culture, nature and peaceful scenery.
Your spacious holiday home (80 square metres) is situated on the first floor and is fully furnished with all the comfort of today and the charisma of before. There are three bedrooms (for 6 persons) with luxurious, very comfortable box springs ( 0.90 x 2.00cm!). (If you are with in total 8 people there is also a separate studio to rent , only in combination with the house ( there is a double bedroom with a small table, chairs, shower, toilet and washbasin). Baby chair, child’s bedstead and a playpen are available on demand. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, microwave, double oven, fridge, coffeemaker, water cooker, etc. There also are a vacuum cleaner, washing machine. The house has got woodstove ( wood is free) and can be heated electrically, as can the studio. A parking place, BBQ and private garden set are at your disposal. Lots of games for the children in the house, in one of the old stables they can find a tennis table, a lot of things for the swimming pool, jeux de boule, badminton rackets and so on. Privacy is guaranteed in your own shady garden on the stream, overlooking the pastures. Of course there are several places in the parc ( 7 hectare in total) where you can sit.
If you want you can have your dinner at one of the terraces by the mill or inside with a magnificent view on the old wheel! The owners, Fred and Jacqueline Mangelaars love to invite you to have diner with them, “table d’hôte” as the French people say and can tell you a lot about wine, cheese enso on.

Historic towns like Tours, Loches, Montrésor nearby, seaside resorts like La Rochelle at 2 hours drive. For those who enjoy a good glass of wine there are dozens of vineyards where you can taste and of course buy the wine. If you like French cheese, don’t forget to taste the many goat cheeses.
