One of four gites, sleeping 2 - 10 persons, with swimming pool on private 100 acre wooded estate with 20 acre lake. Ideal for tranquility, fishing, walking and birdwatching but close to chateaux and tourist attractions We would like to invite you to visit Le Chaiseau, our 100 acre estate with its 30 acre private lake. Take in all the pleasures of the French countryside - enjoy walking our miles of private woodland paths, fishing in the lake or bird watching in our unspoiled meadows. Alternatively, you can just relax around the swimming pool in beautiful rural surroundings. You need never leave the grounds if all that you require is a tranquil country holiday. Wonderful for children as private meadows and woodland to play in.
Le Chaiseau is very strategically located. If you are looking for a base from which to explore the famous Châteaux of the Loire, these are only a short drive away. Birdwatching on the Brenne National Park is a few minutes drive away as we are situated on the edge of the Park. Futuroscope and hour away at Poitiers is well worth a visit. For those who crave the sight and smell of the sea, La Rochelle and the Atlantic coast are well within reach of a day trip.

The Loire Valley / Indre-et-Loire region
The region considered the garden of France and where the Royalty decided to build their Chateaux. Situated south of the Loire river in a region famous for its good weather, cheese, wines and tourism with much to occupy the entire family.
If you have more modern tastes, Futuroscope at Poitiers is well worth a visit. For those who crave the sight and smell of the sea, La Rochelle and the Atlantic coast are well within reach of a day trip.
Loches / Le Petit Pressigny area
Le Petit Pressigny (2km) and Preuilly sur Claise(5 km) have shops and restaurants to satisfy most requirements
Local Places to visit within 20 mins drive
Loches - Fortified citadel and one of the best chateaux
La Roche Posay – pretty Spa town on the Creuse and has river beach for really hot days. Good Centre Equestres for organised horse and pony rides for all ages
Angle sur l’Anglin – credited with being one of the prettiest towns in France set on a river with ruined abbey also has a river beach
Preuilly sur Claise - although so near, really worth a walk round up to the museum and by the river.
The Brenne National Park - one of the foremost bird watching areas in France for both resident and migratory birds
Azay le Ferron - Very good Chateaux in centre and Animal Park on outskirts with a drive through area first and then park and walk. Tigers, giraffes etc
Descartes - Canoe centre where they drive and drop you off with hired canoe for 1 - 4 hours paddle back to your car. At the same place is a park with a complex of 5 outside swimming pools with slides etc
Le Grand Pressigny – Chateaux which houses a very good pre historic museum. Fossils etc
The drive south to Le Blanc is by the side of the river Creuse and is very pleasant.
Lake Bellebuche on the Brenne has a bucket and spades beach for children so has St Syr near Chatellerault
Futuroscope, a good family day out,
Beauval Zoo at St Aignan - easy 45 mins drive via Chatillon sur Indre for a brilliant day out.

Thank you Lynn and Roger for a truly wonderful two weeks we have all had a very relaxing and fun time at Le Chaiseau. Highlights for us were undoubtably swimming in your pool, fishing (with much assistance from Roger!) and eating outside/entertaining. Thanks again for a wonderful break ….….. Charlie, Sally, Charlotte (7) and Matthew (5) (Oxford)
……. We don't know what to say but a huge 'Thank you' for a marvellous holiday, a week is isn't long enough. The Gites are superb - well equipped, very clean and easy to care for. We did not get to explore very much of your estate, but we certainly got to know one corner of the lake extremely well. The fishing was pure pleasure- the roach , rudd and carp were so fit and healthy, the surroundings so peaceful, it was a wonderful way to relax. We shall certainly return in the spring to sample more of your grand hospitality and wish you every success with your venture. ……….. Madeleine and Eric (Bedfordshire
…….. We could not have wished for a more beautiful and tranquil setting, the accommodation is superb and the scenery is second to none. Our hosts Lynn and Roger have been extremely friendly and helpful in every way possible. ......... Jackie and Dave (Brentwood)
…….. We have had a delightful time for which many thanks. Our hosts are ever available and helpful and the Gites are well thought out with so much space. Try to get up early and walk around the etang or even the boundary .. it's magical. Also go and listen in the dark to the sounds coming from around the lake ……… Lyndall and John (Mid Wales)
