The Loire Valley region
Loire Castles: no visit to the Loire Valley would be complete without visiting some of the famous Chateaux - Chenonceau, stretching across the river Cher, considered by many to be the most beautiful of the Loire chateaux; during July and August the gardens are illuminated at night - Villandry, with its oustanding gardens.
Brenne Regional Park: we are situated on the edge of the Brenne Regional Park which covers over 160,000 hectares. Famous for its lakes, numbering over 1,000, they provide a diverse natural habitat for an abundance of wildlife.
Futuroscope theme park is close to the city of Poitiers and can be reached in around an hour from your gite.
Amboise is a charming town on the bank of the Loire. Although there is a beautiful château to visit there is also a Renaissance manor house (Clos Luce) that was the last home to Leonardo da Vinci and it contains a large number of his inventions. Close by is the Aquarium du Val de Loire which has the largest fresh water fish collection in Europe.
Loches is a medieval citadel that is only 30 minutes drive away. This exceptional town has impressive city gates and narrow cobblestone streets that lead to a château and an enormous keep that is famous for its torture chambers. On Wednesdays and Saturdays there is a large market and in July and August there will be night markets.

"Ideal relaxed holiday for all the family"
Very enjoyable holiday, well presented and fitted out Gite (Chene) sleeping 8 comfortably. Marie really made the place special from a generous starting food parcel of local produce to being on hand daily to offer travel advice, dispense DVDs, collect bread orders from a local boulangerie - but all in a very quiet unobtrusive way. Our 3 girls, 7,10 and 11 were happy with 'home days' all the time playing in the pool, badminton, table football or just chilling with their annoying mindcraft! We were happy with our kindles in the sun. The terrace outside was used daily for breakfast and dinner including 3 well cooked BBQs. The location is perfect for visiting Loire Chateau, Chemonceau being a must see. A very low key and relaxing holiday. Don't undeestimate the length of time to get from the coast to the house. We averaged 6 hours there and back allowing for a sat nav / passenger navigator cock-up each way which kept the driver alert.

"Outstanding setting, service and site"
This is a real gem and cracking value. It is far enough South to guarantee some great weather and we were once again welcomed to a spotless gite, great pool and a friendly smile. We can't recommend this enough. Great for families, lots to do within easy reach in your car and loads on site to keep you happy. Has the feel of your own gite, even though it's shared with 3 others. Spotless, modern rooms and great facilities. Just don't book before we do otherwise I'm worried we'll miss out!

"Excellent accomodation, fabulous hosts, lovely gardens, great pool"
We visited for the second year running and it lived up to our high expectations. Villa Chene is spacious and well fitted. The patio area has been extended since last year which is good. The pool with its retractable cover is brilliant and is always lovely and clean. Marc and Marie cant do enough to help you, they recommended and booked restaurants for us and even an osteopath for my partner! They remembered our young boys playing football last year and even provided some goals this year.

"Excellent gites and hosts"
We had a wonderful time with a very warm welcome. The gite was in a lovely setting and the pool was the best we have experienced.

We have previously stayed in Gites in the Loire but this one surpasses our previous experience and expectations. The gite was well equipped with modern appliances and furniture yet tasfelly updated and in keeping with the character of the gite. The facilities on site were brillant and the setting tranquil. However, the icing on the cake is the owners, Marie & Marc; they made us feel welcome right from the start. Having spent a longer than expected time travelling, it was lovely to find fresh bread, cheese, milk, tea, coffee and wine waiting for us. The provision of BBQ coals, washing powder and many other consumable items ws a first. They have a rare ability to remain out of the way yet be on hand as and when required. I really cannot praise them enough. My only concern with giving such a review is that it may not be available next time i want to book!

"Super getaway holiday home"
Beautiful setting, super villa, great facilities. Loved being able to use the bicycles. Plenty of peace and quiet. Owners couldn't be more lovely. Really enjoyed our holiday, would love to go back.

"Luxury accommodation, great hosts, fabulous pool"
Chene is spacious, immaculate and has everything that you could possibly need. It seems everything has been thought of with great attention to detail. The beds were great, very comfortable with quality bedding. Sky TV is a plus as a fallback if the weather isnt good. Each property has its own patio area with BBQ. You can socialise if you like but if you prefer your own company then the gites are far enough apart for privacy. Marie is a lovely host. Wine, cheese and fresh bread are made available on arrival and nothing is too much trouble. The countryside is beautiful although the gites are only minutes from local villages and the nearest small town. There are plenty of quality bikes to use and maybe you could pop along to get croissants for breakfast from the nearest village. The Zoo Beauval is within half an hours drive and is well worth a visit - probably the best we have been to (and we have done a few!). Look out for the pandas, birds of prey show, penguin tank and loads more.
We loved Amboise & Loches - full of history and with their numerous cafes and restaurants. The pool is heated and has a cover which is retractable. This is so handy on cooler days when you can be warm inside and under cover when the elements arent kind.
The gardens are lovely with loads of space for the kids to play and lots of actvities laid on by the hosts including table football, boules, skittles, badminton, fishing.
This really is a lovely place and if you so choose then you can be as sociable as you like with the other guests who are predominantly English - great for children.
Its honestly not often we go somewhere and cant find fault - and we've booked a second visit already.
