This 3 bedroom (1 double, 1 twin and 1 with bunk beds) double glazed, semi-bungalow has a large lounge, a good sized kitchen with dining area, a bathroom and an en-suite shower room. The rear garden of the house has a spectacular 180 degree view of the Sound of Mull and of the island of Mull.

The house is well appointed with a 'green' air source heat pump central heating system plus some additional electric radiators and a coal/log fire in the lounge. The modern kitchen has a ceramic hob and oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, and a dishwasher. There is also a washer/dryer.

The lounge has a 32 inch TV (with Free view channels), DVD player and an excellent CD system with an i-pod docking station. The bathroom has an electric shower and an electric heater and there is an en-suite shower room accessed from the twin bedroom. Towels, linen and a hair-dryer are provided.

To take advantage of the stunning views a fourteen sq metre conservatory was built in autumn 2007. The cottage provides an ideal opportunity to relax in a spectacular and peaceful Highland setting. The village nevertheless has many amenities including a small supermarket and petrol filling station, a dive centre with a cafe/bistro, a hotel which serves bar meals, an award-winning local produce restaurant and a social club (7 day temporary memberships available).

The Scottish Highlands region

The Highlands are famous for many things including the mountains, the islands, the wildlife, the castles - all of which you can see from this property. You can sit back in the conservatory, possibly with a glass of malt whisky in your hand and take them all in. And two hundred yards from the front door is one of the top country restaurants in Scotland. However, possibly one of the best things about the village of Lochaline is the ease with which you can access Mull and the islands beyond by ferry.


Lochaline is a small Highland village with surprisingly good amenities and is the main settlement in the Morvern peninsula, which lies just beneath Ardnamurchan and across the sound of Mull from the Isle of Mull. It is about an hour by car from the main town of Fort William.

"Comfortable property in great location with fabulous view from conservatory"

Thoroughly relaxing , very comfortable ,well equipped property . You must give in to the temptation to sit & enjoy the view from the conservatory . Beautiful scenery from doorstep & in surrounding area . Local facilities good .

"Excellent, comfortable stay."

We had an excellent stay in this comfortable house. The house was very clean and decorated to a high standard.It is very much a home from home, with everything you could possibly need there. It does not feel like a rental home due to all the consideration which has been paid to the decor and furnishings.The double bed is the ultimate in luxury and we had such fantastic sleep in the peaceful bedroom.
The piece de resistance is the conservatory. It is ceiling to floor glass and looks out over the garden and the Sound of Mull with the hills beyond.The views are stunning and the scene changes all the time.It is just the place to sit and read your book with a glass of wine in hand.It is also a good place to spot some of the wildlife-assisted by the several pairs of binoulars in the house.
The surrounding area is great for walking and the ferry to Mull is available at the end of the road.
