It is also ideally situated for visiting Inverness and Fort William, both being within an hour by car from the apartment. The west coast and Isle of Skye, famous for its fantastic sunsets and rugged coastline is also only just over an hour from Fort Augustus.

The Highland Club itself has lots of facilities for families and couples, so you can enjoy your stay whatever the weather. The clubroom with free WiFi, a full size snooker table and other table games is a great meeting place for friends and families. The indoor heated swimming pool and spa, will add even more fun to your holidays. Apart from the indoor facilities there is a tennis court, a cricket pitch, a barbecue area and many other outdoor things to do at the Highland Club and all facilities are free to use for our self catering visitors.

The Scottish Highlands region

The Highlands of Scotland is a land of mountains and lakes virtually unhurried by todays world. A place where nature still dominates and where eagles and wildcats still roam freely and with a rich history of clans and ancient battles of the Celts who live here to this day. The Highlands is a beautiful place and most welcoming to visitors who drive, ride or fly into Inverness, the Highland capital. People come from all over the world to visit the spectacular castles, visit whisky distilleries, taste the fabulous cuisine and learn about the turbulent history of the Scottish clans in places like the Culloden battlefield. Most of all though, people visit the Highlands for the dramatic scenery and to experience the natural beauty that is unrivalled anywhere in Europe and which is unique to Scotland. Of course you may want to indulge in a little of what we are famous for at Loch Ness, Nessie spotting. Our apartment is situated in a location where The Loch Ness monster has been seen!

Loch Ness

Loch Ness at Fort Augustus, known locally as the 'Gateway to Loch Ness' as it is situated at the southern end of the lake and is an ideal location for touring both sides of the loch. Inverness, Fort William and the scenic west coast are all within an hour's drive. Nearby you can walk to Fort Augustus golf course for a round of golf, choose to cruise on Loch Ness or the Caledonian Canal, visit the ruins and exhibition at the famous and historic Urquhart Castle or investigate the Culloden battlefield where Bonnie Prince Charlie was defeated at the last battle to be fought there. There are many walks and cycle ways in the area suit all levels of fitness from challenging hill walks to gentle canal tow-path walks.

The Highland Club is just a couple of minutes walk from Fort Augustus village where you will find a small selection of restaurants pubs shops and things to do, or stay within the 20 acres of private landscaped grounds of the Highland Club and enjoy eating in the onsite "Boathouse restaurant" overlooking Loch Ness.

"Reasonably priced, quality accommodation in a great location."

Spent 5 days during October. Perfect apartment for a family with children. My children especially loved the indoor swimming pool and the adventure playground. We enjoyed meals at the restaurant on site overlooking Loch Ness which is stunning on a clear day. The apartment is well furnished to a high standard and fully equipped with lovely views of the lawn/giant chess board. This a great base to explore the Highlands from or to just relax and enjoy the local area and the amenities on site. We loved it so much we are returning again next October.
