Home description

New for 2009, the cabin is warm & cosy all year round. Furnished to a high standard, open plan lounge with 42" Plasma TV with Home Cinema, Flame effect fire, dining and kitchen area, 3 bedrooms (master en-suite), main bathroom, washer/ dryer, with parking for 2 vehicles.

It is situated on a Scenic site within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Graded 4 star by the Scottish Tourist, and AA 3 Pennants, the Park also holds a Silver Green Business Award and Silver David Bellamy Environmental Excellence Award.

The Park is on the site of the old Balquhidder Railway Station - the Railway steps, Platform and Tunnel can still be seen. The Park has resident Red Squirrels and wild flowers and butterflies abound! The Rob Roy Walking Trail and Cycle Route 7 which provides safe cycling amongst the beautiful scenery pass across the road from the Park.

Nearby Loch Earn is a centre for both fishing and water-sports: water skiing, canoeing and sailing.
Only 80 minutes from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Perth, the Balquhidder Braes are ideal for outdoor activities including golf, walking, water sports, fishing and cycling.

The Central Scotland/Edinburgh region

1 mile south of Loch Earnhead, which has a shop, post office, cafe & Bar.

The home of Rob Roy, fabulous scenery, a great location for walkers right on the Rob Roy Walking trail and there are numerous other self-guided walks, for example in Balquhidder Glen we have Creag an Tuirc.

Cyclists we are opposite Cycle Route 7, Bike hire is available locally through Comrie Croft Bikes.

As a base to get into the Highlands or visit the major cities, there is a variety of Water-Sports on offer 1 mile away at Loch Earnhead.

In keeping with the environmentally friendly policies the on-site farm Shop products are sourced locally and organic wherever possible.

There are currently Guinea Fowl and a few hens. The latest additions are the highland ponies.

The Golden Larches Restaurant is directly across the road from the Park and serves delicious home cooking.
The Kingshouse Hotel is one mile south of the park which is our closest pub. This also serves bar snacks. You can walk safely to it on Rob Roy Way path that runs across the road from the park.

Callander is 12 miles away, it has a lovely main street and sits on the river Teith, it has a good Tourist Information Office along with supermarkets, pubs etc.

with mountains and lochs around every corner the stunning scenery of the Highlands is a must.

We are approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes drive from either Glasgow or Edinburgh airports, and 2 hours from Glasgow Prestwick.

Transfers can be arranged with local taxi – please email us and we can sort it out.

For public transport information you can look at www.traveline-scotland.co.uk. The bus stop north of us is Lochearnhead (1 mile away), and south is Kingshouse (1/2 a mile). But if you ask the driver they will drop you at our gates - if they won't phone and we can pick up from either location.

From Stirling take the A84 signposted Crianlarich. This will take you through Doune, Callander,Strathyre, and directly to Balquhidder Station. The Golden Larches Restaurant is on the left -hand side and Balquhidder Braes Caravan Park is 150 yards further on the right.

Please Note: DO NOT take the minor road signposted to Balquhidder village and church.
