Home description

The property is a luxury 2 bed mews cottage newly built as part of a development of 7 cottages from a listed building that was formerly the Steadings for the old Lomond Castle.

Consequently the property benefits from extensive use of traditional limestone walls on both the exterior and the inside. On the ground floor there is an open plan oak kitchen and living room with oak flooring throughout. Additionally there is a WC adjacent to the main entrance. There is also access to a fairly substantial garden to the rear via the double patio doors from the living Room.

The location of the cottage is ideal and benefits from being a 5-10 minute walk from both Cameron House as well as the Duck Bay Marina. It is also a 10 minute drive from both The Carrick and The loch lomond golf courses and a 15 minute drive from the renown picturesque village of luss. The town of Dumbarton is also only a 15 minute drive and Glasgow 30 minutes. Indeed this cottage would suit the most discerning of travellers and keen golfers.

The Central Scotland/Edinburgh region

The nearest town is the picturesque village of Luss. It’s home to many great scenic walking trails along the main loch. There are restaurants, coffee shops, visitors centres, nature reserves, hiking, watersports and golfing. There is also the breathtaking lodge on the loch restaurant.

Nearer by lies the Duck Bay Marina and restaurant as well as the many offerings of the Cameron House Hotel. There are also boat sailings from Balloch and the Balloch Castle country park.

Loch Lomond National Park / Alexandria, Scotland area

Ferries and pleasure cruises operate throughout the season from the lochside communities of Tarbet, Balloch, Balmaha and Luss and are a perfect way to explore the area.
Further along the West coast from Luss is Arrochar, dwarfed by the magnificent splendour of the famed Arrochar Alps that encircle these upper reaches of the loch. The distinctive shape of The Cobbler - Ben Arthur - is one of Scotland's most familiar landmarks and a mecca for both walkers and climbers. Walking, cycling and pony trekking are also well catered for in the nearby Argyll Forest Park.

The southern shores of Loch Lomond open into a broad, fertile valley that wends its way alongside the fast-flowing River Leven, one of the better salmon and sea trout rivers in Scotland. Several small villages overlook the river as it joins the Clyde at the ancient town of Dumbarton. Dominating the skyline here is the majestic rock, a volcanic plug, upon which Dumbarton Castle stands to guard the Clyde Estuary. The castle is one of the oldest fortified sites in Britain and has been of considerable significance throughout the centuries.
