The Central Scotland/Strathclyde region

This region has a contrasting landscape of lochs, mountains, forests and coastline and it's therefore no coincidence that it's one of the most popular holiday destinations in Scotland. Its popularity is easy to understand when you consider the mouth watering attractions within its boundaries; which include the beautiful Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park in the west and the wonderful forests, mountains and rivers which are characteristic of Tayside and Perthshire to the east. The city of Stirling can also be found in this area, with its rich historical significance in Scottish history and connections to William Wallace and Robert the Bruce. The beautiful and unique coastlines here, both on the west coast and east coast, are ideal holiday destinations. Stretching in the west from Oban in the north down to Strathclyde and the Ayr coast, and in the east the coast extends from Dundee and Angus south the along the Fife coast to Edinburgh.

Loch Lomond National Park

Set within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, Beechwood Cottage lies just 2.5 miles from Loch Lomond itself and enjoys some excellent wildlife in the surrounding countryside. There are cycle trails and an abundance of great walks to discover across the expansive mountains which cover the area; from the property you can catch a glimpse of one of them as Ben Arthur stands as part of the surrounding Arrochar Alps. A number of golf courses in the area are ideal for a round enjoying some stunning scenery including the Loch Lomond Golf Course which is considered to be one of the finest in Scotland. Beechwood Cottage has an abundance of attractions right on its doorstep and is an ideal base for all those looking to relax and explore the Loch Lomond and Trossachs area further.

In good position in Arrochar. The garden looked up into the hills and a road away from the loch which is beautiful. There was plenty of room but basic facilities. The TV was too small for the large living room. The shower was a dribble and the kitchen could do with refurbishment. The sunroom looked over the garden was lovely and pleasure to sit in. It was floor boards throughout and personal taste would have preferred the living room and bedroom to be carpeted as it didn't feel cosy.
