Home description
This is a unique cottage style apartment oozes country village living. It has sloping floors and low ceilings and is furnished with furniture which creates ambience. There is a new fully fitted and equipped kitchen and a lounge/dining room, the heating is gas fired central heating which can be adjusted to suit all requirements. The stair to the apartment is within the round turret in the picture, this turret was added about 100 years ago covering what was originally an open stairway. The bathroom has a cast iron bath with shower over. The area is an ideal base from where to explore Central Scotland. There are more than 20 golf courses within half an hours drive and the country walks suitable for leisure strolling to serious hill walking.

The Central Scotland/Edinburgh region
The apartment is situated within half an hours drive to Glasgow or Stirling and an hour drive to Edinburgh or Perth. The situation is perfect to explore many interesting and historic features. Within one mile is Buchanan Castle ex home of the Dukes of Montrose, Stirling Castle which has seen more historic events than most castles. Ther is Dumbarton Castle the seat of The Earls of Lennox. An hours drive takes you into Burn's Country where you can visit Burn's Cottage, the birthplace of the poet and while in the same are you can visit Culzean Castle.
Loch Lomond National Park / Croftamie area
Loch Lomond and Trossachs was Scotland's first designated Nation Park. The features are so numerous that it is best looking at the park website www.lochlomond-trossachs.org which will give a full description of what goes on in the area and also current events. The Loch Lomond Park Gateway is situated in Balloch, eight miles distant, this is the centre of the Park Authority where all information is available.

Further details indoors: There is a good selection of books and magazines and also a comprehensive supply of tourist information pamphlets. There is an ample supply of janatorial products including non biological soap powder for use in the washing machine. There is a good selection of glasses including crystal whisky glasses,crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. The twin bedroom has a wash hand basin.
Further details outdoors: There is a large lawned garden with lots of flower beds and a full set of outdoor furniture for the use of guests. In the adjoining fields there are usually sheep or cattle grazing.
Conditions
At time of booking a 25% deposit is required and the balance is to be paid one month prior to arrival. In consideration of all our guests we do not allow pets and the apartment is non smoking. We offer a starter pack which will cover breakfast on your first morning before you get a chance to get in supplies.
