The Central Scotland/Strathclyde region

The village of Drymen is home to a number of traditional Scottish pubs and restaurants including 'The Clachan', the oldest pub in Scotland! 'The Pottery' often has live music evenings. 'The Drymen Inn' has just celebrated its first birthday and is proving very popular with our guests.

A little further afield, 'Duck Bay Marina' on the west shore of the loch, or 'The Oak Tree' in Balmaha both offer loch-side dining, while 'The Boat House' at the De Vere Cameron House Hotel offers the highest quality dining experience.

Loch Lomond

The jewel in our local crown is, undoubtedly, Loch Lomond. The Queen of Scot's lakes. Scotland's largest inland waterway, the Loch offers many amenities from the sedate to the fast paced. Why not take a boat trip from Balmaha to the island of Inchcailloch or many boat trips are available from Balloch (8 miles away) to explore the Loch under the majestic shadow of Ben Lomond. The village of Luss on the western shore of the loch is also worth a visit.

For those of you who fancy a wee dram, Glengoyne Distillery is only a few miles from Drymen and offers a first class visitor experience, including a tour of the facility and a whisky tasting at the end!
