The Central Scotland/Strathclyde region

Discover the magic of the west: sea-lochs and mossy, lush woodlands, long views to a horizon where the sun sinks behind the islands. This is a beguiling and romantic kind of place with a special heritage as the first Kingdom of the Scots.

The surrounding area is beautiful with plenty to do and see.

Go for walks around the picturesque area. There is plenty of things to do like horseriding, fishing, sailing, cycling etc. You will never be bored!

Loch Awe

Dalavich is a beautiful village with breathtaking surroundings. It is set on the picturesque banks of Loch Awe which is right next to the forest.

The Burns night supper is a brilliant annual event on 5th November and they Hogmany parties are well known in the surrounding areas.

There is a church, small shop and cafe in the village with a part time post office. The social club is very lively with people planning events for the community well in advance.

Thank you for your review, I appreciate it. Yes I am building a decking at the ground level with a staircase up to the balcony so guests may access the shore directly. The water level actually rises and falls as the loch is used for hydroelectricity, hence the slight marshiness. Sometimes the water comes up almost to the cabin! I'm glad you had a nice time.

Delighted you enjoyed your week at the cabin! I always describe the space as 'pleasantly spacious, reassuringly small'. Yes, the road leading to Dalavich is long and twisty but that adds to the area's secludedness, and it's probably why you didn't see many other people wandering about. Thanks for your review and I hope to hear from you again! Reuben
