The North Wales / Snowdonia / Anglesey region

Anglesey is situated on the northwest coast of Wales near the beautiful Snowdonia mountain range. It boasts over 100 miles of spectacular coastline within an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Anglesey is steeped in a rich archaeological and historical heritage. It is unparalleled in its diversity of wildlife habitats from the great sea cliffs, estuaries, lagoons of the coast to the lakes, wetlands, heaths and farmlands of the interior.

Favourite attractions are its beautiful beaches.it is an ideal place for watersports, birdwatchers, walkers, golfers and cyclists. Today it also offers small towns where you can shop and visit the many tea shops and restaurants.
Its climate can be varied like anywhere but when the sun shines there is just no where nicer or more idyllic.

Accommodation with Nature on the Doorstep
Jutting out into the Irish Sea, Anglesey offers an incredible variety of enticing landscapes to explore. And, thanks to an absence of pollution, intensive agriculture or heavy industry, wildlife here can thrive. A holiday cottage on this enchanting island means you can choose from dunes and lagoons; muddy estuaries and rocky shores; broadleaf woodland and cliff-top heaths. Stretch your legs on over 650 miles of footpaths, spanning rugged coast and ancient forest, or visit sanctuaries such as South Stack Nature Reserve at Holyhead and Cemlyn Nature Reserve at Cemaes Bay to see rare species of flowers and wildlife at close quarters.

Anglesey's mild climate and unspoilt coastline make it a paradise for birds, and cottage holidays here offer fantastic opportunities for spotting wildfowl and seabirds. A must for bird-lovers is a trip to Puffin Island, near Penmon Point, where you can take a boat trip for a closer view of the impressive colonies, and all over the island you'll see (and hear) a rich mix of native and migrant species.

Character Cottages Steeped in History and Heritage
There is over 9000 years of history to explore on Anglesey so, whether you want to walk in the footsteps of Neolithic tribes at ancient sites such as the standing stones at Llanfechell and the Trefignath Burial Chamber on Holy Island, or explore more recent industrial heritage at the copper mines of Paris Mountain, from a cottage here you'll catch a glimpse of the past.

No visit to Anglesey would be complete without visiting the magnificent 13th Century castle at Beaumaris, described as a technical masterpiece, or a visit to South Stack Lighthouse, where you can climb to the top for the best view on the island. Mill, monuments, and historic houses are all within easy reach of our range of holiday cottages.

Choose a Cottage Holiday for Culture and Cuisine
Anglesey has had its fair share of awards and acclaim for food excellence, and across the island you'll find venues and menus to suit all tastes and pockets. Take a short break in October to take in the Anglesey Oyster and Shellfish Festival - a highlight of the culinary calendar. Make the most of your self-catering facilities with world-class oysters and mussels, to really put your gourmet skills to the test.
Or perhaps you'd prefer to spend your holiday sampling island specialties in some of Anglesey's many fine restaurants and welcoming pubs. You'll find a fabulous array of local jam, chutneys, fruits, and cakes on the menu. Don't forget the Anglesey Beer Festival, held at the Mona Showground in September, where you can sample ales and spirits from Anglesey and beyond.

Holiday Homes near the Highlights and Hotspots

Or perhaps you'd prefer the superb local fishing or diving, with over 100 wrecks to explore.
You'll find family fun at Foel Farm Park and Chocolate Farm, Anglesey Model Village at Newborough, and Anglesey Sea Zoo at Brynsciencyn, not to mention on one of the isle's many beaches! At Pili Pilas Butterfly Bird and Minibeast Centre kids young and old can marvel at exotic creatures from around the world.
