Lloret Residencial (cottage)

Home description

Up in the hills between Vidreres and Lloret, the house is situated in a very quiet area indeed. The cottage has two bedrooms, one bathroom, a porch, a terrace in front and a big garden in the back. The garage is behind the house ( the washing-machine is there) and there is a small barbecue. The kitchen has a cooker (four rings), a large fridge but there is no oven.

In the garden there is a small pool and a swing and the views are wonderful. If you like a quiet, reading-holiday, you will like it.

Upstairs, in a small flat, lives the housekeeper who will look after the cleaning at an additional cost of 8 Euros/hour (if that is your wish) and who will help you out when necessary.

In the bathroom there is a shower, toilet and sink. In Winter you can use the fire-place; we can provide wood too.
Our cottage is particularly for people who like a quiet holiday. At the entrance of the allotment a supermarket sells bread, meat, fresh fruit and vegetables and there also is a bar. and restaurant.

The Costa Brava/Catalonia region

Catalunya has a typical Mediterranean climate: hot Summers and temperate Winters. This year, we´ve even had some snow! The nearest beach is Cala Canyelles: the typical Costa Brava beach with rocks and pine trees that will give you some shade at midday. Snorkelling is great among the rocks: the water there is shallow and even children are quite safe in it, always under supervision of course.

Not very far off are the smaller, quieter small fishing villages: Calella de Palafrugell, Llafranc(30. min. by car). Playa de Aro (for those of you who like the latest fashion) and a lot of shops, is at 20 min. away by car. A trip to Barcelona (from Blanes station which is at 12Km from the house) it takes exactly one hour and a half. This train follows the coastline and the view is lovely. From Sils station ( at 7Km from the house) the trip is only one hour and it goes inland.

Lloret de Mar / Lloret Residencial area

Lloret de mar nowadays is often synonymous with night life; yet there is a quieter side to it for those who venture out into the hills around. There are miles of unspoilt wood- and farmland with breathtaking views. Those of you who like to hike, will be able to get to Tossa de mar throughout the Mediterranean woods and hills without so much as bumping into one living soul. Lloret is easy reachable from Barcelona, Tossa and the smaller seaside resort on the Costa Brava like Calella de Palafrugell and LLafranc. Playa de Aro is aso easily reached.

How to get there

Gerona Airport at about 20 KM from the house. Cheap flights available : mainly Ryan air.
Buses take you directly to :Barcelona - Gerona - Lloret de mar.
Car hire companies: Hertz- Europ car-Avis-Budget car etc. (all of them!)
Taxi to Lloret: about 40 Euros(Summer 2008)

Our cottage is a cosy one! We have also just installed a satellite (BBC World; National Geographic; CNN and plenty of others in English as well as some in Spanish). For the children the Disney Channel (English or Spanish). Plenty of German and French channels too.

For those of you who like nature, we have plenty of fruit trees: figs, pears, apples, peaches, grapes, plums, cherries. If you happen to be there when the fruit is ripe: you´re welcome to help yourself to it.
We can provide toys for small children and a small trampoline.

The person living upstairs is there for your comfort, not to disturb your privacy.

Conditions

At booking we ask 50% of the total amount. The other half 6 weeks before arrival date.
