Home description

Beautiful stylishly decorated apartment within two integrated design houses (Casa la Pintora means 'the Painter's House'). With full use of the lovingly tended garden and unique swimming pool this property offers the perfect escape from every day life without skimping on mod-cons and conveniences. Furnished to an exceptionally high standard this apartment lets you enjoy a relaxing holiday in an absolutely stunning setting. In October 2008, our property appeared in a special article in the Spanish magazine "La Vanguardia", which featured properties built in a contemporary style which nevertheless manage to blend in perfectly with the surrounding scenery.

Relax on the apartment's private terrace after a dip in the pool, or wander around the gorgeous cacti, fig, cypress and almond trees that the garden has to offer. Only four kms away from some of the best beaches of Majorca, the property is set on the outskirts of Es Llombards, a small peaceful village. The property enjoys views to the neighboring fields so you can benefit from the countryside yet there are also the advantages of being in a small village such as a fantastic baker and amenities.

The Mallorca/Majorca region

Majorca is a truly beautiful island and offers culture, sunshine, beautiful scenery, and of course, fantastic beaches. The largest of the Balearic Islands and surrounded by the mediterranean sea, Majorca has long proved a popular destination for holidaymakers. Its size makes it the most diverse of the islands with Gothic architecture and grand mansions as well as mountains and flat windmill covered plains.

Majorca boasts over 300 days of sunshine a year and is great for either a scorching summer holiday or for catching some winter rays. The nightlife is also notoriously good and though the village itself is tranquil, the night-owls among you can find what you are looking for only a short drive away.

The island is also ideal for families with watersports, water parks, golf and various other activities all within easy reach.


Llombards area

Es Llombards is a small charming village located between Santanyi and Ses Salines (three minutes by car to either). There are prehistoric sites and some lovely medieval buildings. Santanyi is famous for its twice weekly market and there are also several art galleries. There are also concerts throughout the summer in Cala figuera and open air concerts. There are also fiestas – notably that of St James at the end of July and St Anthony at the end of February.

The area offers gorgeous beaches, sporting activities and watersports. "Casa la pintora" is located less than a 5 minute drive from some of Majorca's most magnificent beaches - all of them virtually untouched, with turquoise waters and white sands. Don't take our word for it - have a look at the images in our photo gallery! There is also a large range of restaurants near this peaceful Mediterranean village including some fantastic sea food. Mallorca boasts glorious seafood, fruits, vegetables and pastries, all of which are readily available to try in the area. Just 1 minute's walk from the house is a small bakery where you can buy delicious bread, ensaimadas and cocas (Mallorcan pizzas, a local speciality). There is a market in town once a week, and nearby Santanyi is home to a wonderful Mediterranean market on Wednesdays and Saturdays, so you can prepare delicious meals with the freshest local produce. There is everything you need in close proximity including a supermarket, post office and bank. You will also find more traditional shops such as a fishmongers and a butchers.

Set in beautiful Majorcan fields with stunning virgin beaches nearby and a wide range of activities you can make a holiday to Es Llombards as action packed or as peaceful as you like!

Fly to Palma de Mallorca - Casa la Pintora, Es Llombards is just 40 km from the airport.
Ferries from Barcelona to Palma : Transmediterranea (Millenium)
Flights available from British Airways,Iberia,Easyjet from UK to Palma de Mallorca airport.
Car hire available from Avis, Hertz, etc
Local buses run regularly between Palma de Mallorca and Es Llombards.

The Spanish and international media have certainly noticed that our property is outstanding. In addition to the special feature in "La Vanguardia" (which you can see at http://www.magazinedigital.com/tendencias/casa/ficha/cat_id/51/pageID/3 - just click on "Number 5" at the bottom of the article to see our property!), "Casa la pintora" was also recently featured in a cookery program on French Canadian TV! The house was chosen as a filming location for this culinary tour of Spain partly because of its extraordinary architectural qualities, and also because I work as an artist illustrating recipe books. In case that both apartments are full, a small studio in the owner’s house, with private entry, could, occasionally, be offered. Rooms and bathroom are the same but kitchen-living room is smaller. Ask for the price.

Prices for less than a week:

3 nights: 340 Euro.

2 nights: 250 Euro.

Prices are for 1 to 4 persons, a 5th person will be charged 15 Euro extra per night.

SECURITY DEPOSIT : 200 Euro security. It’s entirely given back in a week after their departure if nothing is broken or damaged.

CLEANING: For stays up to 3 nights, cleaning costs 25 euros at the end of your stay. For stays longer than 3 nights, the cost is 40 euros.

GARDEN AND SWIMMING POOL DAILY CARE: We charge 20 eur/week.

HOW TO PAY: A third part will be pay at the booking by a bank transfer. The security, cleaning and the rest of the rental price, will be pay by bank transfer 15 days before the customers arrival.
