About the home
The studio has twin beds with the option of a fold up bed, an en-suite bathroom with a full-size bath and an over bath shower. There is also English satellite TV in the studio so you can keep up with your favourite programmes The summer kitchen contains a gas fridge/ freezer full size gas cooker and everything you need to make a meal.
If you feel like a holiday from the kitchen we can provide breakfast a light lunch and dinner on request at an extra charge, Tea and coffee making facilities are available in the studio.
The swimming pool will be for your sole use during your stay as will the extensive gardens with lots of seating areas in sun and shade.
There is also a pool bar where you can purchase drinks, we also have a dart board, dominoes, a mini library, and a selection of DVDs are available There is an iPod dock on the music system by the pool bar so you can bring your favourite music with you. Secure on site parking is available.
We have two dogs, two cats and free range chickens so you can always be sure of fresh eggs. There is an assortment of fig, apple, plum, pomegranate, Nisperos, and orange trees all of which you can taste when in season.

The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Valencia Province region
Valencia sits on the Northern Costa Blanca and is surrounded with orange groves the perfume is amazing in spring when the blossom appears.
Its Architecture is a mix of classical and modern. The City of arts and sciences, the Oceanografic and the Cathederal are all well worth a visit but just meandering through the city you will undoubtedly find things of interest.
Valencia football club is counted as one of Spain's top clubs and the Stadium is close to the train station.
There are many golf courses in the area in wonderful settings including El Saler, El Bosque and El Scorpion.
Las Fallas is a world famous Fiesta held in March Valencia becomes the party capital of Europe with fireworks, concerts, parties, more fireworks and goes on until the small hours. On the19th March the burning of the ninots takes place. They are papier mache figures of famous people: politicians, film stars and local characters. They take a year to make and burn within minutes but everybody has a wild time.
La Tomatina: this is an annual event which takes place in Bunol on the last Wednesday in August. People gather in the square and trucks arrive loaded up with tons of ripe tomatoes and the participants throw the tomatoes so be warned it's a bit of a free for all, very messy but great fun.
The Lliria area
There is a market in the main square in Lliria every Thursday morning. It's a thriving market where you can buy everything from Cheese to Chinos but English is not widely spoken in this area so bring a phrase book.
There are lots of bars, restaurants, pharmacies and shops in the main town and it can be busy. We have a Medical centre 15 minutes from the property and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
There are two museums in Lliria, one being in the town centre and the other in the old town.
Lliria was a Roman settlement called Edeta. You can take a tour around the dig site in the town centre or visit the museum close by where the artifacts that have been found are displayed.
A little closer to us is the village of Domeno: it's a pretty white village just as you imagine a Spanish village to be and here you will find a general store, pharmacy, a bakery, and a few bars, one English and a few Spanish. You will find the people here very welcoming and happy to help.

Transport links to Lliria are excellent. Valencia city is a 30 minute drive or you can catch the metro which goes directly into the city centre from Lliria and runs every 30 minutes. The Metro stops at all the towns and villages so you can get a real tasre of this corner of Valencia and the journey takes about 40 minutes.
The journey from Alicante takes you through the stunning scenery of the Costa Blanca. Its stunning mountain and sea views are visible from the A7.

We had a lovely relaxing week in Casita Katerina. Ian and Lyn were perfect hosts. They were there if you needed them but were never intrusive. Their knowledge of the area enabled them to answer all our questions. The studio is lovely and spacious with all the amenities you need. We liked the fact that pool towels were supplied as this is very rare and saved on our suitcase weight allowance!! We mixed eating out with meals at the casita cooked by Lyn. The food was fab and prices for food and drink supplied by Lyn and Ian very reasonable. We loved the area, it was very spanish and Valencia was easily accesible either by car or the metro from Lliria. We really enjoyed the Moors & Christians festival which was held in Lliria whilst we were there and had been recommended by Lyn and Ian. They have two dogs Stella and Bertie who gave us a big welcome! The only down side was that we hadn't booked two weeks and we can't wait to return in the future. Muchas gracias Ian and Lyn. P.S.
