Suran-y-coed lodge is located in an own isolated valley away from it all. Why not staying in our luxury lodge, located away from it all, with great views of the open hills and listen to the birds sing. Plus the warm bubbles of your own private hot tub to relax in and watch the stars whilst listening to the owls, with not a street light in sight. A great relaxing break in this beautiful two story pine lodge. The hot tub for you to use during your stay is located right by the back door of the lodge . This lodge is ideal for families with an enclosed garden and a small stream in which to splash around or build your own dam. They can play happily whilst you relax on the decking overlooking the stream.

"Peace, Tranquility, Comfort - the perfect recharge"
My partner, Tracie, and I took the opportunity to take a long weekend to recharge from the chaos of day-to-day life and, having viewed many lodges and cottages in the Mid-Wales/English border, I contacted Chris (owner). Chris was incredibly polite and accommodating to my initial questions and we went ahead and booked the lodge.
We arrived quite late in the day (in darkness as we had travelled up through the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley - stopping a couple of times to enjoy the route), with Chris very welcoming upon our arrival. He showed us to the lodge and gave us a run-through on the lodge and it's workings - including the fantastic hot-tub on the outside decking (which we used every evening).
The lodge had everything we needed - good space, nicely appointed kitchen, comfortable furniture, great bathrooms (extra long bath in one for tall people like myself - or for two if being romantic - and a good shower in the other)), lovely outside deck with a superb view out over a large pond and the fields beyond.
Chris had also provided a little welcome pack - tea, coffee, milk, sugar, juice etc. - which was a nice little touch.
During the day the view out is lovely. At night the sky is pitch black, and gives you the opportunity to admire the night sky and wonder at the many, many stars that aren't visible in towns/cities - sitting in the hot tub, with a glass of wine/beer listening to the owls occasionally hooting was just superb.
Amongst other things, we took in a visit to the Red Kite Feeding Station at Rhayader (25 mins leisurely drive) - which is an amazing spectacle (feeding is at 2pm each day), walked up onto and along Offah's Dyke from the visitor centre in Knighton (10 mis drive), and just really enjoyed everything about the peace, tranquillity and comfort of the whole visit - including the privacy of the place.
We were tempted to write a poor review on the basis that it might reduce the amount of bookings and make it easier for us to re-book (LOL), as I am sure that once visited everyone would want to return.
Chris has catered for just about everything you could want from a weekend break in the country, and our thanks go to Chris and his wife for ensuring that we were able to just chill out in privacy without any problems whatsoever.
In our opinion, our stay was very close to perfect.

An excellent five star rated lodge with hot tub. Lovely interior, personal touches, nothing too much trouble. Lodge offers a relaxing comfortable stay away from it all.
