The North Wales region

North Wales is known for its dramatic scenery, lush green hills and countryside. Making it an ideal place for walkers, cyclists and outdoor pursuits enthusiasts. However it has more than its share of historical buildings such as castles (Chirk Castle) and stately homes (Erddig) The regions industrial and mining heritage is well illustrated by the number of small railways, and canals. Finally the World Heritage site of the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct is well worth a visit.

The Ceiriog Valley was called 'A little piece of heaven on earth' by Lloyd George, and indeed it is. Straight from the front door there are numerous walks and bike rides, or visit the stables just two minutes walk away to go pony treking or quad biking. Llangollen is well served by outdoor persuits companies who can offer tuition in pretty much any activity you wish to try. For those of you who love your history, the National Trust attractions of Chirk Castle, Erddig and Attingham Park are close by. The area is well served by a number of excellent restaurants and pubs. All the big supermarkets deliver while Glyn Ceiriog has post office, Spar, cafe and cash point.
