Activities on Anglesey

“Extreme sports or gently exploring unspoilt coasts and countryside? Whatever your idea of adventure, you will find it on the Isle of Anglesey. And whatever time of year you visit, you will be spoilt for choice."

Stretch your legs on a choice of more than 650 miles (1056km) of footpaths, spanning everything from rugged coastal cliffs to ancient woodlands. Tread the 400 steps down to South Stack Lighthouse. On a bicycle pedal miles of quiet lanes and tracks. Book a pony trek. Explore the waymarked nature trails.

A round of golf? There are four 18 hole courses, one 12 hole and three nine hole, plus driving ranges. All in spectacular settings.

The Isle of Anglesey is a Mecca for water sports enthusiasts, with a fabulous range of conditions – sheltered sandy bays, remote coves, calm or wild waters and smaller offshore islands. Perfect for sailing, surfing and canoeing. Superb for a spot of sea fishing, from shore or boat.

And why not venture under the sea? Diving opportunities are brilliant, including more than 100 wrecks to explore in clean, clear water.

Book a track day and go motor racing at Tŷ Croes, one of Britain’s friendliest and most exciting circuits. Hop on a boat for an exhilarating trip to the spectacular Skerries Lighthouse, Puffin Island or beyond.

Discover the Isle of Anglesey’s great indoors in any weather, too. We have four leisure centres offering great sporting opportunities, from swimming to squash.

Llangefni / Capel Coch area

There is a profusion of orchids, insectivorous plants, rare giant algae, dazzling dragonflies, grasshopper warblers and waterfowl.
