The North Wales / Snowdonia / Anglesey region

The Isle of Anglesey, with its lovely coutryside, spectacular beaches and heritage is a wonderful place to visit. It has over 100 miles of spectacular coastline within an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which makes the island an ideal location for watersports throughout the year with facilities for scuba diving, surfing and windsurfing at many of its resorts.

There are numerous sandy beaches around the Island - Benllech, Lligwy, Cemaes Bay, Trearddur Bay, Rhosneigr, Aberffraw and Llanddwyn. The name Llanddwyn means "The church of St. Dwynwen". She is the Welsh patron saint of lovers, making her the Welsh equivalent of St. Valentine.

A day trip to Ireland is a must to taste the Guiness! Holyhead port is only 25kms away.South Stack (Ynys Lawd in welsh) is an island just off Holyhead on the North East coast of Anglesey. As you descent the 400 stone steps, you will see some of the 4,000 nesting birds there during breeding season.
