The North Wales region

The Isle of Anglesey, with its lovely coutryside, spectacular beaches and heritage is a wonderful place to visit. It has over 100 miles of spectacular coastline within an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which makes the island an ideal location for watersports throughout the year with facilities for scuba diving, surfing and windsurfing at many of its resorts.

There are numerous sandy beaches around the Island - Benllech, Lligwy, Cemaes Bay, Trearddur Bay, Rhosneigr, Aberffraw and Llanddwyn. The name Llanddwyn means "The church of St. Dwynwen". She is the Welsh patron saint of lovers, making her the Welsh equivalent of St. Valentine.

A day trip to Ireland is a must to taste the Guiness! Holyhead port is only 25kms away.South Stack (Ynys Lawd in welsh) is an island just off Holyhead on the North East coast of Anglesey. As you descent the 400 stone steps, you will see some of the 4,000 nesting birds there during breeding season.

Oriel Mon (Anglesey Gallery) is an art gallery located in Llangefni which exhibits interesting information about local history and artists. Sports hall with swimming pool, modern gym & badminton facilities.Bangor is a university town and good shopping centre, located approx 17kms away.

The famous village with the longest name in Wales, Llanfairpwllgwyngyll, is approximately a 10 minute drive away, incorporating James Pringle Weavers, a visitor centre which has a variety of shops selling Welsh crafts and souvenirs.

The panoramic view, overlooking the Menai Straits, from the top of the Marquis of Anglesey's column in Llanfairpwllgwyngyll is spectacular, backed by the mountains of Snowdonia. Plas Newydd (part of the National Trust) is the home of the Marquess of Anglesey and is situated on the edge of the Menai Straits.

"Lovely spaceous accomodation with sceneic views of the countryside."

I found it very clean, tidy and the owner very accomodating, Very quiet during day and night, gorgeous scenery surrounding the property. We went to the local resivour which was very close to the bungalow - this had alot of public footpaths so we reguarly took walks around there. Bungalow was situated in a central position which allowed us to explore the isle of anglsey. Would definatley recommend to anyone, and would definatley stay again.
