The North Wales region
Anglesey is a geological jewel set in marine surroundings of great variety. Sandy beaches, wide estuaries and rocky bays provide the opportunity for angling, boating and, of course, to observe a rich variety of birds and marine life. Walkers and cyclists too, can indulge in their passion in the quiet, unspoiled countryside of Anglesey. Ancient castles, the copper mountain, South Stack lighthouse and sea-birds, Anglesey Sea Zoo are just a small selection of Anglesey attractions. Crossing the Menai Strait by either the Telford Suspension Bridge or the Brittania Bridge will bring you to Snowdonia, where you can experience the delight of narrow gauge railways, ancient castles, slate mines and museums, Port Merion and the Dinorwig Hydroelectric power station.
Trefor is a small rural hamlet situated between the towns of Valley and Llangefni, close to Llyn Alaw the largest lake on Anglesey and Llynnon Mill, a restored working flour mill. Bodfan is just two miles from junction 5 of the A55, for convenient access to Anglesey’s many beautiful beaches and tourist attractions.
