The Denbighshire region
Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.
Situated two miles south of Ruthin is the small village of Llanfair Dyffryn Clwyd, reached via the breathtaking Horseshoe Pass. With its imposing 15th Century church, the village is also home to a traditional pub which serves food and is only a few minutes drive from other local amenities. Ruthin itself is over 700 years old and boasts many half-timbered buildings clustered around St Peter's Square. Although the town is packed with many interesting shops, the main attraction is possibly its renowned craft centre, which is home to a number of internationally recognised artists and craftspeople. Also in the near vicinity are Lake Brenig, Moel Famau, Loggerheads Country Park and Clocaenog Forest – all of which provide excellent walking and cycling opportunities. Snowdonia National Park and the Welsh coast are also within easy driving distance.
