Completed in August 2006, Residencial Covabella is a new development of 26 privately owned apartments on the edge of Posada de Llanes, a small market town 8 kilometres from the picturesque port of Llanes in the province of Asturias in Northern Spain.

The apartment has three bedrooms two bathrooms, kitchen and a lounge/dining room. It will comfortably sleep 6 people or 8 using the sofa bed in the lounge. Everything is brand new including the beds. All beds have good quality individually pocket-sprung mattresses and are extremely comfortable. Bedroom 1 has an en suite bathroom with bidet, bath and shower, a large double bed, 2 bedside cabinets and a fitted wardrobe. Bedroom 2 has twin beds, bedside cabinet and a large freestanding wardrobe. Bedroom 3 has bunk beds and a wardrobe. There is a second shower room.

The lounge has a TV and DVD. The dining table has seating for eight. The sofa bed is a metal framed, good quality “Ektorp” sofa bed made by IKEA. It is 1.4 m (4ft 7in) wide and extremely easy to put up and down.

The kitchen is fully fitted with granite worktops, ample storage space and fully equipped with ceramic hob, electric oven, fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster, teapot, coffee pot and an ample supply of glasses, crockery and cutlery etc. Ironing board, iron and a large clothes airer are also supplied.

The apartment is on the ground floor with a large private garden that has beautiful views of the “Sierra del Cuera” Mountains. The garden is south -west facing and a real suntrap. It has a large terrace with a table and eight chairs and two sunloungers. There is also a large communal garden suitable for playing ball games etc.

There is a parking space in the basement garage.

Whether you want just a beach holiday, or to experience everything else that Asturias has to offer, this apartment is in the perfect situation.

"Young family holiday in lovely apartment, great location."

We are a couple in our mid thirties with two small boys 6mths and 3 years and we stayed at Covabella for 10 days in Sept 2013. The apartment was very well equipped with lots of space inside and out for our little ones to play safely. The beds were very comfortable and there were lots of extra pillows to make sure we were comfortable. We were travelling with a car through France and then to Spain and travelled in a large family car. This made the car park a challenge as the Spanish spaces are quite tight. Luckily there were rarely many cars parked there and we got used to it after the first few times. Having a car was great as we could explore the beautiful mountains and surrounding area. Our little ones played on a different beach every day! Posada itself was a quiet little town, with a well stocked supermarket very close by and lots of little cafe bars along the main street. We really enjoyed our stay and Colin was very helpful when there was a local problem with the water on the last day.

"Lovely apartment in beautiful Asturias"

Had a lovely week at Covabella. The apartment is really well equipped with everything we needed for a family of four, and much more. Posada is a pleasant enough little town, although not particularly a tourist destination. There are stunning beaches a short drive away (or even a pleasant, if longish, walk) and the Picos de Europa are within easy reach, as well as making a stunning view from the window.

"Clean, comfortable great base for touring this stunning area"

Colin was extremely efficient and helpful, dealt with our initial enquiries and booking in a professional way. Before we travelled he was happy to give advice and sent us the keys and clear directions to get us from the airport to the apartment. It was very helpful that in the apartment the owners had provided a lot of information in English (as we don't speak Spanish) directions to the nearest, best beaches, places to eat and menu translations etc. When we arrived the apartment was very clean and tidy. Good quality bed linen and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipt with large fridge, d/w, m/w and w/m. There are 2 showers, which had to run for a while to get the boiler switched on but the water was lovely and hot whenever we wanted it. The lounge/ dining room has a good sized dining table & chairs to seat 8, a 3 seater sofa & 2 armchairs, all very comfortable and plenty for 4 people, but might be a squeeze for comfy seats for more people. There is a small TV with built in DVD, but not much TV to watch (although the boys still found the Disney Channel in English and we could kepp up with the Olympics). It was lovely to sit out on the patio with views of the mountains, read or play cards in the evening. The apartment is on the edge of the village on the main street, so it is very handy for the supermarket, bars, cashpoint etc. but still quiet. The village is small but has all you need, it was great not to have to drive for miles to find bread & milk or a nice place to eat out. We were recommended Asturias by a Spanish friend as it is where they go during July / August to escape the relentless heat further south. The climate is pleasant (around 26-28C), warm even when it does cloud over, a few hot days (30+), a couple of rain showers. The region is unspolit, just small villages and historic towns and we have never been anywhere with so many fantastic sandy bays, hard to choose which is best. Highlights were eating Paella at the beach cafe at Playa Toranda (as recommended by the owners), Llanes, a drive in the mountains - Cangas de Onis & Covadonga, Santilana del Mar. It is all very Spanish and great to experience the different culture, not for those who want to speak English and eat Fish & Chips!
