Gelli Hir Farm holiday cottage is a converted detached stone barn situated on a 70 acre equestrian holding with outstanding views over the surrounding countryside.
The cottage is a self contained unit which sleeps 4/6 people, with ample off road parking and open spaces for children.
The cottage is based in a quiet rural area but close to shopping centres, tourist attractions and castles.

There is a large lounge and dining area which has a double futon bed for extra sleeping, with colour television with freeview, DVD player and selection of DVD's. Steps lead into the lower level fully fitted kitchen with electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine.
There are two tastefully decorated bedrooms with exposed beams, one double and one twin bedded with ample wardrobe space. Duvets and bed linen are provided.
The oak floored bathroom has toilet, bath with shower, wash hand basin and shaver point. Please bring your own hand and bath towels.

There is a children's play area with bark base situated in the mature lawned gardens together with many open spaces for relaxing or playing ball sports.
Patio furniture and gas barbecue provided.

The West Wales / Pembrokeshire / Carmarthenshire region
Llanelli is the largest town in both the county of Carmarthenshire and the preserved county of Dyfed , Wales, sits on the Loughor estuary on the West Wales coast, approximately 10 miles (16 km) west-north-west of Swansea and 12 miles (19 km) south-east of the county town, Carmarthen.
The town is famous for its proud rugby tradition and is a centre of tinplate production.[3] In the mid 20th century, Llanelli was the largest town in the world where more than half the population spoke a Celtic language.[4] It is ranked the 7th largest urban area in Wales. Llanelli is also surrounded by a number of villages and communities in the Llanelli Rural district.
The Llanelli / Five Roads area
Many of the most popular attractions in West Wales are within an hours drive. . The ‘Celtic Path’ which is a cycle/walk way is only yards away from the cottage with its links to the Millennium Coast.
Pembrey Country Park has over eight miles of golden sands edged by a belt of sand dunes. The beach forms part of the Pembrey Country Park which has a variety of leisure facilities available.
Tenby
A recent Which? report said "Tenby was one of the uk's finest holiday resorts, with a medieval centre and three gorgeous Blue Flag beaches".
Gower Peninsula
The Gower Peninsula is both beautiful and unspoilt, there are many historic features located over an area that measures just sixteen miles by seven miles wide. Notably, Gower was one of the first places designated 'An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' under the Act of 1949.
Mumbles
Undoubtedly one of the best seaside villages in the UK, over 120 shops and restaurants and the entire Gower Peninsula on your doorstep.

Staying at Gelli Hir is now an annual event. The conversion of the barn results in a spacious, modern feeling space with plenty of room for energetic boys to run around or to sit still and play a board game. There is even more room outside with a friendly farmer and family who are happy to share their space. The kitchen is good enough to be able to cook a roast dinner for four if you choose to and the two bedrooms provide well earned respite after a long day. We fell in love with this place the first year we went and can't wait to drive up the lane and see it again this year. |
