Llanduno North Wales. The finest holiday resort in Wales and a part of Conwy County Borough in the United Kingdom.
Wales’ largest seaside resort is a great place to visit at any time of the year. Gardens and beaches. Irresistible shopping, bars and restaurants, world-class theatre, a great choice of attractions, and a packed calendar of events are just some of the things that make this town such a big hit with visitors. It is an area where people live and work, but also where thousands come to relax and enjoy a wide range of leisure activities.
This celebrated Victorian seaside town attracts visitors all year round. North Shore beach is great for sandcastles, paddling and picnicing. Stroll down the impressive curved esplanade and listed Victorian pier out over the bay. Events include the ever popular Victorian Extravaganza and a spectacular firework display on the waterfront in November. Head for our big high street names and smaller independent shops for a fix of retail therapy. Catch a show at Venue Cymru, North Wales’ premier entertainment centre.
Take in the knockout views of Anglesey and Snowdonia from the quieter West Shore. Head to the Great Orme and discover the Bronze Age mine, herd of Kashmir goats and colonies of sea birds. Walk the paths and trails. Ride the cable car for the best views. Take the Victorian tramway to the top and try the ski slope for a quick way down! The Little Orme is just across the bay for great walking and admiring the equally impressive views.
Conwy
Famed for its medieval castle and town walls, and with Snowdonia as a backdrop, it is little wonder this charming historic town is so popular. Great places to eat, boat trips on the estuary, historic houses and an excellent range of year-round events, including a Honey Fair that has been running for a staggering 700 years.
Colwyn Bay & Rhos-on-Sea
There is more than meets the eye to these neighbouring seaside towns. Award-winning horticulture and a conservation zoo. Two miles of clean, award-winning sand. Watersports and woodland walks. A coastal cycle track and a sea-front golf course, not to mention the smallest chapel in the UK.
Betws-y-Coed
Surrounded by forest, rivers and waterfalls, and just a stone’s throw from the mountains of Snowdonia. With great shopping, eating and drinking, and wonderful walking country in any direction.
Conwy Valley
Head for the towns and villages and you’ll soon find there’s more to the Conwy Valley than woodland walks and rolling farmland. See the annual Agricultural Show at Eglwysbach. Idyllic Rowen. The Roman spa and Woollen Mill at Trefriw. The markets of Llanrwst. Outdoor activities at Capel Curig. Wild waterfalls at Penmachno and Dolwyddelan’s lonely Welsh castle.
Coastal Towns & Villages
Compact and easy to get to. Each one of our coastal towns and villages has a fabulous view of the Irish Sea. With old fashioned proms at Penmaenmawr and Llanfairfechan. A quiet secluded beach at Llanddulas. Seaside amusements at Pensarn. Bustling streets at Abergele. Clean beaches and seaside entertainment at Towyn and Kinmel Bay.
Rural Towns & Villages
Journey off-the-beaten-track and discover Conwy’s hidden gems. Head to the unspoiled Elwy Valley to find the idyllic villages of Llanfair Talhaearn, Llansannan, Llangernyw and Gwytherin. Head further inland to Hiraethog and get some quiet time in the tranquil villages of Cerrigydrudion, Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyr and Pentrefoelas.
Snowdonia
Snowdonia National Park covers 823 square miles of the most beautiful and unspoilt countryside in North Wales.
The Llandudno / Llandudno Town area
Llandudno lies between two notable carboniferous headlands; the Great Orme and the Little Orme (both within the Conwy County Borough with the Irish Sea on one side and the estuary of the River Conwy on the other). It is these headlands and the two waterfronts; the North Shore and the West Shore that give the tourist resort of Llandudno its special appeal.
The Great Orme Country Park Visitor Centre is a great place to start your visit to the Great Orme. Find out about this spectacular coastal headland's history and wildlife through interactive displays, models, an introductory film and seabird camera.
The longest cable car in Britain. Enjoy a ride on the Llandudno cable car during your visit to this beautiful resort. As the cable car glides silently from Happy Valley to the summit of the Great Orme (679ft), a magnificent panorama unfolds breathtaking views of Llandudno, the Little Orme, Conwy estuary and beyond.
Hop aboard the Great Orme tramway for a ride that has been thrilling young and old alike for over 100 years. It is Britain's only cable-hauled, public road tramway that still uses the original Victorian carriages.
Llandudno Ski & Snowboard Centre has so much more to offer than just skiing. Ride the longest Cresta toboggan run in Wales! At an amazing 750m long, you don't want to miss this exhilarating experience. The ride starts at the bottom of the hill. Once connected to the cable your toboggan cart climbs 250m, where you can enjoy the panoramic views of Llandudno bay. Then the fun starts! You are disconnected from the cable car and then you control the cart all the way down.
Traditional children's favourite show "Punch & Judy" on the North Shore promenade, Llandudno - opposite the entrance to the pier. Daily shows Easter to mid-September (weather permitting) 2.00pm and 4.00pm and also at 12 noon during the height of the season and on Bank Holidays.
The 1500 seat theatre at Venue Cymru is one of the UK's leading receiving theatres. A diverse programme of events virtually covers every form of live performance from opera and West End shows, to comedy and pantomime.
