The North Wales / Snowdonia / Denbigh/Flint/Conwy region
Llandudno lies between two notable and spectacular headlands, the Great Orme and the Little Orme with the Irish Sea on one side and the estuary of the River Conwy on the other. It is these headlands and the two waterfronts, the North Shore and the West Shore, that give the tourist resort of Llandudno its special appeal to both locals and tourists.
Llandudno is a fine centre from which to tour Snowdonia and other parts of North Wales including the many spectacular Castle’s including Conwy and Caernarfon Castle. Many of the bus services are geared to the needs of walkers so a car is not always essential meaning that you can sit back and let someone else do the driving whilst you enjoy the wonderful scenery of North Wales.
Llandudno / Llandudno Town area
As Wales’ largest seaside resort Llandudno is a great place to visit at any time of the year. With fantastic gardens, beaches and spectacular views. Irresistible shopping, superb bars and restaurants, a world-class theatre and a great choice of attractions make Llandudno such a great resort. A packed calendar of events including the ever-popular Victorian Extravaganza and a spectacular firework display on the waterfront in November are just some of the things that make this town such a big hit with visitors.
North Shore beach is great for sandcastles, paddling and picnicking. Or strolling down the impressive curved esplanade and listed Victorian pier out over the bay. Head for our big high street names and smaller independent shops for a fix of retail therapy. And catch a show at Venue Cymru, North Wales’ premier entertainment centre.
Take in the knockout views of Anglesey and Snowdonia from the quieter West Shore. Or head to the Great Orme and discover the Bronze Age mine, herd of Kashmir goats and colonies of sea birds. Walk the paths and trails. Ride the cable car for the best views. Take the Victorian tramway to the top, and try the ski slope for a quick way down! The Little Orme is just across the bay. Great for walking and admiring the equally impressive views.
How to get there
Easily reached by car approx. 5 minutes from A55 turn off. Llandudno main line railway station is a 5 minute taxi ride away or about a 15 minute walk. Coach teminus (National Express) is approx. 7 minute walk.
