Set in the Upper Dee Valley, there are walks to the Berwyn mountains from the door.The cottage is 8 miles from Bala and its lake, while Llangollen with its many tourist facilities is nearby and Snowdonia is a short drive away. There are many outdoor activities in the locality especially for walking, watersports, golf and fishing.

The Upper Dee Valley is a beautiful area of gentle rolling countryside seen as a backdrop to the steep Berwyn Mountains. There is a vast range of outdoor activities located on the doorstep from hillwalking to water sports on the River Dee and Llyn Tegid (Bala). Llandrillo is ideally suited to visit the local tourist hotspots like Llangollen, which has an historic steam railway ,a castle, a canal, the annual eisteddfod, shops, pubs and ancient buildings. A slightly longer drive takes you to Betwys y Coed,in the heart of Snowdonia. Chester is easily accessible and why not try the steep glaciated Tanat valley route over into Mid Wales
