Llandovery

Just 30 minutes from the M4 or a scenic drive along the A40 brings you to this small, very picturesque, traditional Welsh market town. It is situated on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, giving easy access to both the majestic mountain terrain, and the leafy pastoral valleys below. The rich historical heritage, going back to Roman times, is reflected both in the remains of the Norman castle, and churches and the many fine Georgian houses. Llandovery is also renowned for having been an important drovers town where herdsmen gathered from all over South Wales to make their huge cattle drives to London.

Today you will find it is still a wonderful place to access a wealth of beautiful and varied countryside. The Towy Valley is one of the most beautiful in Wales.

The surrounding villages add their own charm and interest. The area offers endless opportunities for those who enjoy the great outdoors or just want to relax in in the area's natural beauty - long the inspiration for poets, painters and writers.
