This beautiful cottage offers superb panoramic views over Mid Wales countryside. It provides the perfect setting for anyone wishing to switch off and enjoy complete relaxation in private, peaceful surroundings. It also offers the benefit of being very central and within a short distance of many amenities and attractions, including a visitor centre and café, pub, shop and playground one mile away in the village of Llanbrynmair.

Ground Floor

Spacious, open plan living area with high ceilings and large picture windows creating a great sense of space.

The large living / dining area offers beautiful panoramic views down a five mile long valley. This is all complemented by underfloor heating, a welcoming wood stove (free logs), comfortable seating, TV/ DVD player with Blueray, CD player and radio.

Fully equipped kitchen with electric oven, eye level grill, four plate hob, microwave oven, toaster, kettle, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. All cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils are provided, along with generous storage space.

Large, inviting ground floor bedroom with a king size bed and cruck beam feature. Plenty of storage space.

The ground floor bathroom is accessible via bedroom or passage off living room. Level entry walk in shower with wide door and free-standing adjustable seat available. W.C. with hand rail, washbasin, shaver point and heated towel rail also included.


Beautiful twin bedroom also furnished with a wardrobe, dressing table, chest of drawers and two bedside cabinets.

The upstairs bathroom includes a heated towel rail, bath with shower unit, W.C., bidet and washbasin with shaver point.


Large patio area with two sets of garden furniture and panoramic views for miles around. A lawn and grassed area also encircles the cottage and this is available as a play area. There is access to a small area of woodland/ farm lane and access to all of the owner's fields unless specified otherwise.

Lockable shed next door to the cottage – ideal to store cycles, outdoor clothing etc. Firewood and camping chairs for guests' use can also be found in here.

Bed linen, hand, bath and tea towels provided. Hairdryer and four beach towels also supplied.

Central heating, firewood and electricity included. Underfloor heating downstairs, thermostatically controlled radiators upstairs.

Many basic toiletries , washing powder, washing up liquid and toilet rolls are provided.

Cot, wooden high chair, stair gate, changing mat and mattress side barrier for child supplied. *Please request cot beforehand.

MiFi internet access available on request for an additional £10 (*please notify beforehand).

No smoking.

Sorry, no pets except guide dogs.

Adequate parking for many cars, within easy reach of the entrance (which has a ramp)

About this location

The Powys region

This beautifully converted barn is located on the owner's 50 acre sheep farm and enjoys panoramic views over the Mid Wales countryside (and Red Kites flying above). Ideal for walkers with the Glyndwr Way National Trail going past the farm and plenty of mountain biking centres, watersports etc available nearby. Its peaceful setting also offers a great, central base for exploring Mid and North Wales.

The village of Llanbrynmair (1 mile) has a small shop, pub, playground and Machinations visitor centre. This unique attraction offers a great day out and is the only permanent exhibition of contemporary Automata (mechanical moving models) in the UK. It also has a cafe, playbarn, rabbit village, gift and toy shop.

The charming market towns of Machynlleth (12 miles) and Llanidloes (15.5 miles) offer many unique and independent shops, good country markets, cafes etc. The nearest beach at the beautiful coastal resort of Aberdyfi (22 miles) is also well worth a visit.

There are many highly recommended restaurants in the area, including Wynstay and Number 21 Bistro in Machynlleth, Glanyrafon in Pennal and Ynys Hir Hall in Eglwys Fach. Some of the other “must do's” during your stay at this country cottage include a visit to the Centre for Alternative Technology, King Arthur's Labyrinth, The Osprey Project and Ynys Hir Nature Reserve. The Forest Experience Rally School in Carno will get the adrenalin going whilst Snowdonia National Park is just 12 miles away.



Glyndwr's Way is a long distance footpath in Mid Wales that was granted National Trail status in the year 2000. On the doorstep of your cottage – 0 miles

The Wales Coast Path can be accessed close to Machynlleth. 12 miles

If you're tempted to take on the Snowdonia mountains, Aran Fawddwy (from Cwm Cywarch - 16 miles) and Cader Idris (from Dolgellau, 24 miles) are the two nearest peaks.

Llyn Clywedog (Lake) near Staylittle: £16 a day. Permits from Reeds Garage in Machynlleth / Newsagents next door to Spar in Llanidloes / Fishing Equipment Shop in Newtown. 10 miles to the lake


Clywedog Sailing Club - 6 mile lake, open to all types of non powered watercraft from canoes and sailboards to dinghies, cruisers and keelboats. 10 miles.


Dyfi Mountain Biking – Bike hire available at The Holy Trail shop in Machynlleth. All routes start from Machynlleth. 12 miles

Hafren Forest Trail – Various routes suitable for cyclists just outside the town of Llanidloes. 15 miles

2 other popular Mountain Biking Centres in the area are Coed y Brenin and Nant yr Arian.
