The North Wales / Snowdonia/Gwynedd region

North Wales has by far the UK's widest variety of scenery and things to do - all within a half-hour's journey time. It contains the Snowdonia National Park - 827 sq.miles and 37 miles of coastline and 14 mountains over 3000 feet. This includes Snowdon at 3560 feet (1085m) - the highest in Wales and England. It's perfect for every sport activity or you can simply sit back, do nothing and drink in the beauty.
The Llanberis area
Llanberis is nearby town to set off for the Snowdon railway or to walk up our highest mountain), 10 minutes from historic Caernarfon with its famous castle, 10 minutes from Bangor for shopping.
There are many places to visit in the area; Snowdon and the mountain walks of the area are always popular. The historic castles at Caernarfon, Conwy and Beaumaris are all worth a visit, as are the nearby famous Welsh narrow gauge steam railways. Also available locally are riding, mountain biking, golf, fishing, climbing, diving, bird watching and lovely beaches. There are a number of country parks, theme parks and other attractions particularly aimed at families with children. We provide information and briefing on local visitor attractions and eating places.

Cottage is clean and in an excellent location for walking and indeed driving out to the local sights. It accommodated our family with teenagers and their grandmother easily and has excellent amenities. There is good access to the property, ample parking space and loads of local information inside to make good use of for a day out. Response: We're so pleased Trosgol worked so well and look forward to welcoming you back here. |

We used Trosgol cottage as a base for a walking and cycling weekend in Snowdonia. The cottage is comfortable, clean and spacious. Beautiful location with excellent views. Ample parking and space for walking/cycling/climbing gear. Would be perfect for families as there is a childrens bedroom with bunkbeds. I found the price very reasonable - we booked out of season and I thought it was cheap. Overall I would definitely recommend Trosgol cottage either for groups of friends or a family booking. . Response: Thanks so much. We've really tried to make Trosgol work well for walkers and cyclists. |

The cottage was really well located, 15 mins from the Ogwen valley and 15 mins from Llanberis. On the occasionally days that we had bad weather it was quick and simple to get to the coast to enjoy better weather. As the cottage is at the northern end of the Glyders the walking/running potential from the front door was really good, particularly recommend the horse shoe round the reservoir (2 hour run or 4 hour walk.) Even the climbing is reasonable as access to Bus Stop Quarry is pretty close. The cottage itself was comfortable, clean and easy to live in. We did have a little argument over the main bedrooms but only because they were both so appealing. All in all a great cottage, we plan on going back regularly! |
