Situated in the old slate quarrying village of Llan Ffestiniog, this 19th Century, stone-built mid-terrace cottage is ideally located in the centre of Snowdonia National Park. Just two miles from Blaenau Ffestiniog, this cosy-open plan cottage is a former quarryman's house and has been sympathetically renovated to retain much of its original character. With exposed beams, an open fire in the sitting area and views of the Moelwyn Mountains, this is a wonderful place for a small family to spend their holiday. Nearby is the bustling town of Porthmadog, Black Rock Sands and Mount Snowdon, making this an interesting and diverse location.

The North Wales / Snowdonia / Gwynedd region

Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. Snowdonia National Park, situated in North Wales, boasts breathtaking mountain scenery, crystal clear lakes and cascading waterfalls. Climb Snowdon, which at 1085m is Wales’ highest mountain, or travel to the summit in style on the charming Mountain Railway. Alternatively, why not sample the beautiful green valley of Llangollen by steam train or from a leisurely horse-drawn canal boat.

In July, the annual Llangollen Eisteddfod transforms the town into a unique centre of international music and dance, attracting musicians and singers from across the globe.You could also explore the beautiful coastline, safe sandy beaches and watersports of the Lleyn Peninsula, as well as Colwyn Bay, historic Conwy, Victorian Llandudno or the Isle of Anglesey on the north coast. To the south, there’s the lovely Brecon Beacons National Park, a haven of rugged moorland, forests and mountains that’s just perfect for nature lovers and walkers.

Finally, the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is renowned for its wildlife, stunning coastal scenery, superb beaches and as the home of Britain’s smallest city, the City of St David’s.


Llan Ffestiniog area

Situated close to the impressive Manod and Moelwyn Mountains is the old slate quarrying village of Llan Ffestiniog which is set against the stunning backdrop of the Snowdonia National Park. The nearby town of Blaenau Ffestiniog was once the capital for the world’s slate mining industry and was often referred to as the 'City of Slate' during the 18th Century. Nowadays, the town has a number of excellent shops and restaurants and is a fascinating place to visit.

The surrounding area also offers a number of excellent activities such as the famous Ffestiniog Railway and the Llechwedd Slate Cavern, as well as countless walking and cycling routes. There are also excellent local facilities for fishing and golfing in addition to numerous sandy beaches and centre for water sports.

Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the 'Winter' period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental.

Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the 'Low' and 'Mid' periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday.

'Last Minute Breaks' (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the 'LOW', 'MID', 'HIGH', 'PEAK', 'XMAS' and 'NEW YEAR' periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.
