• The Collegiate was founded in 1840 under the name Liverpool Collegiate Institution, as a day school for boys.
• A former head of the school included Reverend George Butler, the husband of the early feminist, Josephine Butler.
• Famous Collegiate students include Leonard Rossiter, Holly Johnson, Pete Best and Brian Labone.
• The Liverpool Collegiate was closed in 1985 following a fire.
• Today the building retains its imposing double height doors which lead onto a beautiful mosaic floor with sweeping staircases, its fireplace and the World War One memorial in the hall, with its list of all of the school patrons and headmasters
